He was unmasked, vulnerable, exposed under the scrutiny of this woman; beauty incarnate, serenity made human form, her presence felt familiar - comforting, all encompassing. She was motherly-- no, majestic, and she’d found him alone in a dark place that was his own.  Then, a chill struck his core like a match, and he gazed at her, agape, for a few moments before swallowing the thick knot of astonishment, unsure as to whether he was wading between consciousness and dream.    “There is power, and freedom, and they are good.” he declared proudly, meeting the glittering suns of her eyes, feeling the unyielding burn of them on his soul;   “But you don’t know me.”
