Some Things Should Remain Hidden (RP with Sendoa)

Vanem rushed to the top of the sand dune as fast as his aging body would allow.  He gazed out over the sands but so no sign of his quarry. He tilted his head, turning his good ear towards the sprawling desert but heard none of its familiar chirps.

Yet the fact that the desert was indeed silent of any of the dolphins' calls was itself unusual.

No more unusual however than what he had seen. Or thought he had seen. The cloth creatures of this part of the desert came in exactly one color scheme: red with gold trim and white symbols. Anything else had to be either an illusion or a mirage. He would not want to think that he had become old enough that his eyes were playing tricks on him.

He knew he should give up the search, but something drove him to continue. He had witnessed a great many fresh red-cloaked Wayfarers making the Journey through here. While he could not conceivably be a Companion to every one of them, he could at least scout out any new dangers which may be present.

He prepared himself to slide down the other side of the dune to continue his search.
