Descending into the abyss by PeterThoeny In 2018 I went for a 10 km hike in the Swiss Alps along a ridge separating Appenzell and St. Gallen. To get there I took a gondola lift from Frümsen, then hiked south towards Furgglenfirst, the steep rocky mountain in the back. I processed a realistic, a balanced, and a paintery HDR photo from two RAW exposures, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image. The Meadow Brown (Maniola jurtina), is a butterfly found in European meadows, where its larvae feed on grasses, such as Sheep's Fescue.

Day 7: Arosa to Rorschach

Today was the big school day! We went to six schools in total and presented our electric vehicles to the pupils. At the same this was part of  competition of today. But let’s start in beginning.

After a great night in the Bellavista hotel teams started downhill to go through the Swiss Rhine valley. First stop was the school in Trübbach. As part of our competition each team got one minute to present their vehicles to the pupils. The pupils then give points and the team with the most points obviously wins this competition. After we had given our second presentations at the school in Gams we were heading towards Sennwald for our lunch break.

Sennwald and Brusa invited the teams for lunch at their premises. Many employees and people from the area took the opportunity to take a closer look at our electric vehicles and the vehicles from Brusa. Also some school kids turned up and had a look around.

After lunch our competition and school visiting continued in the towns of Oberriet, Eichberg and Heerbrugg. On the trips between the school stations the teams were asked to give some pupils a lift to the next school.

After about 120 Kilometres of driving we reached our final destination in Rorschach directly at Lake Konstanz. Wonderful weather once again let us enjoy the evening and prepare ourselves for the next day where we will go to Baden.
