Bristol's Ironside in Oxford

Next week we return to The Cellar for a one-off summertime party special with one of Bristol's most legendary underground bass DJs headlining the night. On Thursday 18th July, Ironside joins a host of Sensible Dancehall resident DJs for a night of reggae, dancehall, reggae, jungle, drum'n'bass, moombahton and all types of bass music in between. Having played a key role in the legendary West Country night Toxic Dancehall back in the day, Ironside is a member of both the [dissent] and P.R.A.N.K crews outta Bristol, with his finger firmly on the pulse when it comes to fresh future bass music. Sensible Dancehall w/ David Rodigan

You might remember back in June we brought you the fantastic news that this November the legendary David Rodigan is returning to Oxford for a special new show. A night presented by Rooty, a team that's guise included Pull Up! that brought other legendary names Frankie Paul and King Tubby's Soundsystem to the Bully this year. The David Rodigan show will take place on Saturday 3rd November at the Bullingdon Arms, Cowley Road.  

We are delighted to announce that Sensible Dancehall DJs have been asked to support on the night (alongside Constant Jammin', Clive White and Sir Sambo Sound). This year has been crazy for us, having supported dancehall dons The Heatwave, Scottish dub legends Mungo's Hi-Fi and headlined The Cellar twice in recent months. We've also had the success of Lord 'av Mercy! one of the most popular monthly reggae/dancehall nights in the city, and now we are absolutely honoured to be appearing on the same stage as a true reggae legend this November. It's a testimony to the support from local music fans, promoters, press and venues that we've achieved this in what is essentially the first twelve months of selecting and playing music to people in public; once again we'd like to thank everyone who's supported us. Here's to another year of progress.
