I've noticed that whenever I do spell work around acquiring stability both economic and otherwise shortly thereafter toxic or generally chaotic humans find their way right the hell out of my life. I guess that's a neat thing.

Secret: I am afraid that my face doesn't resemble my foremothers', that no one will see my grandma and great-grandma in my cheekbones or the line of my jaw when they see old pictures of them then look at me. I worry that the world will forget these women who survived wars and famine, built rocket engines and designer clothes-- they meant so much to me and I can't bear the thought of their being forgotten.

there’s this person i follow on twitter, with whom i am barely acquainted offline. though in getting acquainted offline they were present for me wholly in a part of my life i may not have survived had they not been. on rare occasions we’ll tweet at each other now when something goes horrifically sideways in each of our lives and talk about it. i have this nebulous but deep care for them and forever i hope the best things cross their path. they’re kind and good and i appreciate them deeply.

something some of y’all may not yet know about me:

my first fandom was the dark tower

that’s to say, this book series was the first i dove into with almost-religious zeal, analyzing everything i could and reading all works possibly related to it. i didn’t have internet when i was 11 but i did my best. i read all 7 books in as many weeks and wept bitterly when the series ended.

it was incredible

and now idris elba is slated to play roland deschain and my heart can’t take it i love them both so. i’m rereading the series. y’all best prepare yourselves for some midworld chatter
