Munkustrap tugged gently on the lapels, but Pouncival was curled up as tightly as he could in the bath: hands shoved down below the surface, clenched between his knees as he shivered.
So Munkustrap reached under the surface, feeling the soft warmth of the water seeping through his fur to his own skin, and gently lifted one hand. Keeping it below the surface, he carefully unfastened the buttons at Pouncival’s wrist—one, two, three—and peeled the sodden glove off.
Tugger: Two years ago, I married my best friend.
Tugger: Jemima is still mad about it, but me and Misto were drunk and thought it was funny.
Mungojerrie: Have you guys seen Tugger?
Cassandra: I think he's in Macavity's room, 'studying'.
Demeter: Doubt that. I heard groans in there.
