it was your look first.
colored hair, unique makeup, dark sense of style. it matched your humor and you amused him. like some kind of happy accident you kept him on his toes, of course he'd never show it, but he liked- no loved- who you were.
even better when you'd tease him right back.
you weren't scared of him like everyone else, weren't scared of the powers he possessed and the measures the two of you had to take to be safe-
though you did notice there was a difference.
a difference between his glances to the other league members and you. a difference in how he spoke to you. low, calm, almost laced with a gentle sweetness like addressing a small animal might which run away. it was subtle but it was there.
