wow. the end of sprousehart.
the reason I created this blog.
my first truly involved fandom experience following a real life couple.
wow. idk you guys. i had long checked out of fandom for the most part(i’m in college) but being in quarantine had me checking tumblr more than usual. i remember that two years ago, something like this would have broken my heart, and if any of you are going through that sort of pain, I promise you this: you will be okay. They will be okay. Everything will be okay.
My own relationship has gone through break ups before, and knowing what I know do about love, I can say that it’s complicated. Sometimes people don’t want to break up but external circumstances influence them, etc. Sometimes you need to distance yourself from your former partner on social media to deal with the pain. They might get back together. Most likely, they won’t, and no one should count on that.
Love is love. It is real no matter how long it lasts. What happened mattered, and it was beautiful. Nothing is truly forever, but it can still be important. It was important to us. It was more important to them.
I think what brought us together was a love of witnessing real, hopeful, honest, devoted love. I hope that this community recognizes that in this love we found so much more: friendships to last a lifetime, support, validation, and even creativity.
I wish lili and cole the best in life. No one is entitled to anything. Please don’t invade their lives in any way. Just let these two people live and grow, because this experience, heartbreak, is truly universal.
And lastly, I wish you all the best as well. I will always be checking in with this community, watching new shows, maybe even joining a new one, who knows? Some of you will leave, some will stay, but all of you have brought something beautiful to this lovely space that we’ve carved out.
I love you. be kind. never let anyone tell you to care less. your care has made the world a better place.
