3. What’s your dream job, if money or convenience wasn’t a factor?

I'd want to do research at the prion lab at UCSF. Or outside the US somewhere.

5. Most precious item you own.

Definitely not monetarily, but it's my blankie. I still have it and it's still my comfort item. And it's eventually going to get to be fragile enough that it has to be put away. But um. Yeah. (I'm just gonna go hide under my console now.)

8. What’s a hobby you want to pick up?

I signed up my 10 year old for a pottery class this summer. He is throwing pots and loving it and I am extremely jealous lol. I would love to give pottery a try!

22. What was the first album you purchased?

I am pretty sure it was Mariah Carey “Music Box”

41. What was your dream job as a kid?

I wanted to be a teacher because I loved school and learning. But by middle school it was pretty clear that it wouldn’t actually be a job I would enjoy. I am absolutely in awe of teachers ❤️

20. A piece of media you’re still thinking about long after first consuming it. What about it stuck with you?

I'll pick Star Wars. I think what stuck with me was the overall hopefulness of the stories.

35. Describe an old photograph of yourself/your parents/family that you love.

My favorite picture of my late mother is one I took on our cruise to the Bahamas. We left from New York and it was in a cold snap. So until we got down to the Bahamas it was pretty cold. We had a room with a balcony, though, and she was determined to enjoy every second of it. So the picture is of her in a winter coat, sitting on the balcony, with a huge smile on her face.

41. What was your dream job as a kid?

I wanted to bag groceries. Yeah, my guidance counselor didn't know what to do with me. My other dream job was secretary, because my mom was one for awhile and she took me to her job where I got to run the gigantic copy machine.

Mexican food with a good friend on Thursday (we wanted Mexican food but wanted to avoid the restaurant on Cinco De Mayo).

It makes me think of my dad passing away when I was 16 and how it felt, and how I had to be stoic and take care of my mom.

32. Is there a scent, color, song, etc. that takes you back to a specific year?

"Shoop" by Salt-N-Pepa brings me to 1993, my first year in college. I listened to that song soooo many times walking around Boston.

25. What were you obsessed with when you were younger?

Duran Duran! I used to beg my mom for money to buy magazines; every square inch of my bedroom walls and a fair bit of the ceiling were covered in pinups & posters. My older friends who were able to buy Japanese imports of 12” singles and imported magazines were like THE COOLEST.

@fuiru this one is tough but without thinking too hard: “Reservation Dogs” on Hulu - funny, moving, informative without being pedantic. Just perfection.
