Her voice is soft and light, like the air that passes through a flute and the last words are repeated silently across his lips as he carefully brushes a fingertip over the stray cat’s head. Like fluffy…
He liked the feel of the sun-warmed fur against his skin, it was gentle and warm and a slight giggle escaped his mouth. The animal had captured interested in a bug crawling on the sidewalk and half-pounced- torn between playtime and affection time. Seungho’s mindset seemed to echo hers, as he squatted and watched the tiny paws dance along the sidewalk with fingers tap tapping to the imaginary beat.
“Nice kitty,” he murmured, perhaps to the stranger who has joined him in the simple pleasure of interacting with the feline or perhaps the the gentle breeze that floated on by and ruffled the hair on the trio’s heads. He didn’t mind today, sharing space with another person. It was a good day and she had a nice face with comfortable features and a sweet smelling perfume that reminded him of the orange that he had with his breakfast. So he didn’t shy away from this new acquaintance and instead allowed her to share this fleeting but happy fragment in the middle of his busy day.
No matter the reason, it was a rare occurrence for Seren to actually approach someone by her own will. At first, she hadn’t because this world was so foreign and new to her that she felt the need to wait, to observe first, to learn as much as she could about these humans, that were so different from the ones back home.
She’d thought them to be so blind when she realized that they didn’t believe in magic, in other races, in what made her home world so dear and special to her. But it didn’t take her long to realize that, actually, they weren’t all that blind. They could tell there was something wrong – that she was something wrong, more often than she would have cared to admit.
So, why did she break her rules for him? She didn’t know. He reminded her of Cole in a way, a man like any other apparently, but with an aura that set him apart from anybody else. And then, there was the kitten – so cute and fluffy and loving – she loved animals, and wanted just a little time with her, too. He didn’t seem to mind sharing the feline’s attention with the elf, and the kitten was all the more happy to have double the amount or love. It was a good deal. “She is, isn’t she? Is she your kitty?” She inquired, curiously, dark hues raising to the male’s features as she awaited his answer.
