The voice roused her. Tired blue eyes peered up, attempting to blink away the exhaustion. It had been such a long time, she’d agree. The third seat had been lucky enough to be allowed this small break, even if it was for a couple of days.

“It has.” She yawned. “Sorry it couldn’t be when I’m more awake. Captain’s been keeping us all on our toes lately.”

Tenjiro appeared behind the petite shinigami. His hand placed upon her shoulder softly, trying not to startle her too much. His voice was softer than his his usual boisterous tone. "I'm sorry I left you on a short notice. I had things that needed to be taken care of." He apologized profusely, trying not to upset her.

Rei jumped a bit when Kirinji placed a hand on her shoulder, but she smiled at the sound of his voice. Turing to face him, she spoke.

“I understand. You are a Royal Guard and it’s your duty to do things for the Soul King.” she replied. “And I know if I asked where you’d go, you’ll say that you can’t tell me.”
