Dear Dialogue Coaches,

Even though it resembles the word “error,” the word ERR is not pronounced like “air.” It rhymes with FUR.

Also, there are lots of French words in English that end with an -ay sound: cliche, idee, canape. All of which have a sharp accent over the e. The word FORTE does not have an accent and is only ONE SYLLABLE. Like “fort.”
