I assume you know more more about Ada than I so I'm curious on your take- why do you think she's lined up for a redemption arc or needs one? I feel like they've made it pretty obvious they're not too interested on fully exploring the whole dark backstory / her being coerced into this line of work idea fully - or having her step away from bioterror merc work because 6 would've been like *thee* time to do either of those things. I feel like her being forced to come to terms with how awful, perverse and invasive bioterrorism in the 4 instances we've seen, is more than enough for her to high tail it out of there but she still stays and chooses to not align with the other side.

I covered this topic in a lot of detail here, but the tl;dr is that I believe RE4/Separate Ways and RE6 already did this. The ending of Separate Ways shows Ada confronted with the evil of Wesker's bioterrorism agenda, and she betrays him as a result. The entire plot of RE6 centers around Ada working in the shadows to help the heroes defeat Simmons and Carla, who are bioterrorists.

I'm happy to go into more detail on either of these points, but I really do think Ada already has a redemption arc of sorts. She started morally gray, and she consistently gets less gray.

Why Albert Wesker relies on spies like Ada Wong

Albert didn't want to be discovered by Spencer after faking his death. William reported his death to Alex. Alex had to confirm his death (which she most likely lied about) and report the final finding to Spencer.

Spencer went on to believe Albert had died in the Mansion incident. He finalized this in several documents within Umbrella's archive. Albert continued to keep his cover hidden, and most likely had Alex's assistance in all along. He had to be extra careful about how he handled future missions to achieve his goals but standing back from frontline infiltration as much as possible.

Albert relied heavily on spies like Ada, Jessica and Raymond to handle his dirty work from afar to ensure he didn't run the risk of being discovered. (Most likely due to hiding his survival from Spencer.) But Spencer still found out. This could have been due to his interference with the Cult of Los Illuminados, which we also know quite a few members escaped and survived, and Saddler was aware of Albert's meddling through Krauser thanks to Krauser becoming infected with the plagas and turning traitor to Albert. So Saddler may have slipped that info back through the grape vine to reach Spencer's ears.

Which led to Spencer using the same network Albert had an ear to the ground on while targeting potential hotbeds of research that may further his own goals. This was Spencer's indirect invitation to Albert to lure him to the Spencer Estate with the expectation that he had the upper hand.
