Ignore if embarrassing, little rant of my au of AGS/AG/SG/AS

Maybe it’s because I love angst but I always imagine in another life, if Genesis and Angeal weren’t project children, Genesis would’ve never made it into Shinra. Both Genesis and Angeal had the dream of being first class SOLDIER’s together but only Angeal managed to make it.
Genesis would feel happy for Angeal obviously and hide his disappointment, while Angeal feels guilty like he should have Genesis with him along his journey in Shinra. Genesis would grow up stuck in Banora with not many opportunities, he’d dream of the big city and pretend he’s an actor on stage - but he knows it’s all pointless and will never happen.
They’d grow apart, mostly due to not having much in common anymore but also because of Angeal’s new duties and busy life at Shinra. Angeal would meet young Sephiroth - whom is someone Genesis always admired, seeing news stories of Sephiroth was his favourite thing and Angeal knew how much Genesis would’ve loved to have met Sephy.
Angeal and Sephiroth grow close, maybe even start dating, but the sadness in knowing Genesis isn’t here with him grows.
Finally there’s a chance, some party at work years later (all the boys being late teenagers/young adults), Angeal excitedly gets to invite Genesis out to Midgar to attend this party as his plus one. At this party he gets to meet Sephiroth, but rather than be happy Genesis can’t help but feel so defeated. He feels as though there’s no world where this could’ve been his life, getting to be in a nice city with friends and talking to the one and only Sephiroth. Everything is a reminder of how far behind he is from Angeal, to the point even the famous SOLDIER he admired isn’t that exciting to him anymore.
I don’t know how this story continues, maybe Genesis eventually gives up and cuts contact with Angeal afterwards because he feels like a drag. Or maybe, Angeal opens up to Sephiroth about how guilty he’s always felt around Genesis and how he just wants his friend to be happy. Maybe Sephiroth encourages Angeal to invite Genesis to hang out with the two of them and overtime they start to grow close, trying to get a job in the city for Genesis so he can stay there with them.
I just like the idea of in another life Genesis really didn’t have it all, maybe it’s projection lololol but also his character in Crisis Core always feels like he’s reaching out from that desperation. He’s always seeking another thing to make his life better. So to me, putting him in a life where he has nothing just makes it hurt so much more
Maybe he finds love maybe he doesn’t in that life
Also I think when they were kids Angeal probably had a crush on him while Genesis was busy crushing on Sephiroth from the newspaper, and so when Angeal is distanced from Genesis he no longer feels overwhelmed from his crush but oh no…. Now he likes Sephiroth, and Sephiroth likes him?!? How does he explain this to Genesis
I lowkey haven’t played crisis core in a year so I forgot Genesis is kind of rich, let’s just pretend in this au he comes from nothing ok
