Satellarknight Zefrathuban ———————————————— You cannot Pendulum Summon monsters, except "tellarknight" and "Zefra" monsters. This effect cannot be negated. ———————————————— If this card is Normal, Flip, or Pendulum Summoned: You can target 1 other "tellarknight" or "Zefra" card in your Monster Zone or Pendulum Zone, and 1 face-up card your opponent controls; destroy them. You can only use this effect of "Satellarknight Zefrathuban" once per turn. ———————————————— Can Be Found In: Crossed Souls (CROS-EN020), Pendulum Evolution (PEVO-EN044)
Zefra is a quite particular group of monsters as they try to support two different archetypes with their abilities. Doesn't mean that all Zefras can mixed with all sort of themes, but rather each member have a respective archetype to work along their possibilities. But in most circumstances will work in a pure build, as with all their members being Pendulum Monsters and the support arround their possibilities they can become a dominant archetype even in a time where Pendulum Summon got weakened by current rules.
"Satellarknight Zefrathuban" is one of the members able to support both Zefras and Tellarknights with either his pressence on the Pendulum Zone or providing pressure to the opponent's field. Like many Zefras "Zefrathuban" Pendulum effect restricts Pendulum Summon to the two archetypes that supports with no way to go arround, but is a compensation in exchange of his very low Scale. But in most circumstances will be his Normal, Flip, or Pendulum Summon that will provide the most uses. As when that happens, "Zefrathuban" can destroy any other Tellarknight or Zefra in our Monster on Pendulum Zone to then destroy any face-up card on the opponent's field. But even though this effect is quite restricted, "Zefrathuban" has plenty of opportunities to come to the field from early to late game and get rid of any menaces immediately.
"Zefrathuban" is in a solid position when comes to supporting options, as we can use his removal effect by a simple Normal Summon we can start pressuring the opponent right from the first turns of a Duel. The mere activation of either "Oracle of Zefra" or "Zefra Providence" will suffice to have "Zefrathuban" ready in our hand for a Normal or Pendulum Summon. Tellarknights are no exception if we decide to play this monster among them, as the summon of "Satellarknight Deneb" or the defeat of "Stellarknight Delteros" will prepare "Zefrathuban" in our hand. Alternatively their boss monster "Zefraath" can use its Pendulum effect to send "Zefrathuban" to our Extra Deck. All that is left is to always have Scales ready to be Pendulum Summoned when we need his services, and if "Zefraath" is present as a monster we can obtain an additional Pendulum Summon to further exploit his effect.
With no ATK whatsoever,"Zefrathuban" will mostly depend on his removal effect or work as material if needed. He cannot use himself as cost to destroy face-up cards, so try to either bring him along other Zefras or have a card in the Pendulum Zone to spare for this ability. Probably his greatest candidate to work along with is "Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing", a monster that once taken down by an effect like this will be allow us to search a Zefra Spell or Trap. Obviously "Zefrathuban" is unable to deal with face-down cards, and that's why is recommended to play him along "Stellarknight Zefraxciton" to cover against those targets and switch roles when needed. Obviously since "Zefrathuban" will stay on the field after using his effect won't have much use beyond relying on his solid DEF, so immediately use him as material for bigger monsters to not only prepare him for our next Pendulum Summon but also gain the benefits of "Oracle of Zefra".
"Satellarknight Zefrathuban" might not have ATK, but by his own summon can take down all sorts of enemies and setups. All that he needs is another Zefra or Tellarknight, easily provided by the constant setups arround Pendulum Summons to either summon Zefras or replace the spot in the Pendulum Zone. Obviously "Zefrathuban" is a monster heavily dependant of others to work, making his use among Tellarknight not recommended due they barely provide any tools to work consistently. But with members like "Zefraniu" and "Zefraath" considerably improving his uses, "Zefrathuban" might seem a weakling but can save us against all sorts of tough boards.
Personal Rating: A-
+ Destroys a Zefra or Tellarknight to destroy a face-up card on the opponent's field + Low Scale + Well supported to keep a constant use from early to late game
- We can only Pendulum Summon Tellarknights or Zefras - Due his stats relies on his effect and other cards to stay efficient - Not many uses among Tellarknights
