The Auxiliary Characters
SPECIAL TRIVIA: Purrseaus is my true first OC—I don’t count Kikaru, he started out as a mirror of Beau before I made him more original. I always wanted to give him a unique and proper face, since he was originally made using a template of that Elite Nautilus from The Changelings. Sure, I tweaked that template to make it more unique (including that mouth bit, that was in his original design). But yeah, no, his markings are mostly the same here, I just made his face much more special. ^w^ I love Purrseaus, he’s my sweet fishy boy...sweet fishy angsty boy...
Light Blue Nautilus-Class Dragons: Purrseaus and Sepholus
Purrseaus is a poor tortured soul who has become quite the sulky fellow nowadays. He started off pretty well, though, having been a dragon bred by Connor Penn. Because of their high number of compatible draconium colors, Light Blue dragons were a major part of Connor’s breeding for a new gold dragon. As such, Purrseaus is one of the non-gold results of that breeding, and is therefore a cousin to Beau. Unfortunately, gold or no, Word found he desired to use poor Purrseaus for other ends. He sent a man in disguise to buy Purrseaus off of Connor, to keep them off Penn’s radar to make their go for the gold easier. Purrseaus eagerly left with his new owner, bidding Beau and the other dragons a fond farewell. That farewell turned bittersweet as Purrseaus underwent painful, almost tortuous experiments at Paynn’s tower. Word had a bonemark of a Light Blue warrior that he forced onto Purrseaus, and for many days, he suffered in the thrall of the bonemark’s spirit. But an employee of Word’s could no longer watch on silently, and Meerna Fey would do whatever she could to save him...
Sepholus is a member of the Dragon Fish crew, and no, he’s not a wise-bearded dragon. Those are just little tentacles along his jaw, which he really hopes don’t get longer as he grows up. Yeah, they’re kind of a point of embarrassment for him, and he gets terribly upset when people make fun of them. This has led to him getting into the occasional fight, especially when the teaser doesn’t let up and Sepholus gets ticked off. But mostly, he just ignores it...till he can cry back at the crew compound. During those times, his rider Poddys always stays by him, feeding him his favorite snack and just keeping him company. Sepholus knows things could always be worse for him, but it doesn’t help when it’s used against him during a race and he gets distracted, to the chagrin of himself and the rest of the crew. But Marianis seems to believe in him and Poddys, and that’s all the poor young Nautilus could ask for. Besides, she often asks him and Poddys to explore the Wastelands of Loan, looking for remnants of the Light Blue Empire to keep out of the hands of more...nefarious individuals. Sepholus always hopes that, one day, he’ll find something exceptionally special down there...
