It was pretty hot out so a lot of the animals were sleeping or just laying about.

I try to go out to the Zoo every year or so. It's hard though. Beyond being a bit pricy. Its hard seeing the animals kept and the people who work there not really having the resources to take care of them properly. The other hard part is the patrons. Parents who have no enthusiasm for the experience. Over and over I was at exhibits thinking to myself or talking with my companion about how cool that animal was and parents just went "oh that's another monkey". No lady your child is just another monkey like the rest of us. Teach the kid what the animal is. That there are all sorts of different primates from all over and they are hell'a neat. That being said more signage and information at the displays to get to know more would help with that. Even I went "oh another monkey like thing" wish I could know more.
