Wendy took the offered cup tentatively and took a sip. She blinked, and took another. It was a little hot, but smooth and sweet down her throat.
“Dude, this is nice.” Normally tea wasn’t her thing, but at least this didn’t taste like bland flavored water.
Her eyes roamed the waiting room that she was in, taking in the interior of the Gleeful parlor. The overall atmosphere didn’t exactly scream welcoming, despite being well-lit and well furnished. Her lips pursed over the rim of the cup, as she tried to mask the awkward silence that now hovered in the room with another sip of the tea.
Well, the ice had to be broken somehow.
“So, thanks for the tea.” Wendy set the tea down, wincing a little when the porcelain made a loud clinking noise. Oops.
