HEADCANON: Employee Holiday Party at Town Hall; Saturday Night
feat. @northsideclarington, @northsidesebastian, & @northsidefabray
The one thing about the party was if something came up, Quinn had to deal with it. So while she didn’t want to walk away even three hours into a party that could last for many hours still, when she was asked, she excused herself and left Hunter and Sebastian to themselves. It was impossible to keep the smile off of her face, feeling more herself and like the world was back on it’s axis with them together. Once the fire was put out, she spotted Hunter in the crowd and walked back towards him. Touching his arm, she noticed he was now alone. “Where’s Sebastian?” She asked. He leaned in to kiss her temple, “He said he had to do something.” Quinn nodded, only just noticing the sound of someone switching on a microphone. Then she recognized the voice. Sebastian.
“What the hell is he doing?” Hunter asked and the two shared a look before the music started to play. Lights lowered in a way that said this had somehow been planned leaving the room illuminated by only the twinkling lights of the strings she’d spent most of the week lacing around the room. “I don’t know,” she whispered. The soft notes from a piano preceded his voice, a smooth and sensual sound that drew the attention of the party and sent every conversation into an overwhelming silence.
Can't say how the days will unfold
Can't change what the future may hold
But I want you in it, every hour, every minute
This world can race by far too fast
Hard to see while it's all flying past
But it's clear now, when you're standing here now
I am meant to be, wherever you are next to me
The room was filled with so many people; employees, their dates, the servers and the band. But despite the number of eyes in the crowd, all of them looking at the stage and then following Sebastian’s gaze into the crowd towards the two people standing in the middle of the room. Quinn held her breath, leaning back against the warmth of Hunter’s chest as they stood together. All the onlookers were lost in the lyrics, their existence erased by these words that Sebastian had written and was singing for them.
All I wanna do is come runnin' home to you
Come runnin' home to you
And all my life I promise to keep runnin' home to you
Keep runnin' home to you
Just as Quinn turned her head up, her attention going to see the brightness of Hunter’s eyes turning from the stage and meeting her gaze. The words remained unspoken between them, a lifetime of memories and promises that always led the three of them back together. Whatever happened in their lives, however everything changed, they would always have this, have each other. Her lips turned up in a tearful smile before they turned their attention back to the man on stage, his silky voice casting a spell over the room, and over the three who were more than best friends - soulmates in all manner of the word.
Ever since they were young, Hunter and Quinn rarely had problems sharing their feelings. When they were happy, you knew. When they were sad, they cried. When they were in love, they gave the world - but Sebastian hadn’t been raised to share his emotions. He had always been more action than words, showing rather than telling.
And I could see it right from the start, right from the start
That you would be, be my light in the dark, light in the dark
Oh, you gave me no other choice but to love you
A soft laugh somewhere between the words caught her lips. Tear-rimmed eyes blinked one glistening droplet rolling down Quinn’s cheek. Her hand slipped back and found Hunter’s, twining her fingers into the empty spaces and giving it a small squeeze, his returning the pressure as they breathed in the moment in the hall where only they existed.
All I wanna do is come runnin' home to you
Come runnin' home to you
And all my life I promise to, keep runnin' home to you
Keep runnin' home, home to you
Can't say how the days will unfold
Can't change what the future may hold
But I want you in it, every hour, every minute
As the song came to an end, the three still lost in the melody and the gazes they shared throughout, the room quickly erupted into applause - startling Quinn enough to know people were still there. She looked back at Hunter again, smiling her teary smile, and then reached up to kiss him gently. Turning their attention back to the stage, the two of them watched as Sebastian replaced the microphone and descended from the stage. The crowd parted for him, though he was followed by words of congratulations and encouragement.
All the words in the world fell on deaf ears as Sebastian approached a still surprised Hunter and Quinn. Releasing her grip on Hunter’s hand, Quinn met Sebastian a few feet forward and threw her arms around him, burying her face into his neck and clinging to him. The emotions swelled like a tidal wave, filling her eyes. But nothing mattered in that moment, nothing else besides the world she held in her arms between Sebastian pressed against her and Hunter behind her. Pulling back, Quinn looked up at him and threw away all pretense. It wasn’t needed. She didn’t want it. “I love you,” she said, before tilting her chin and letting her lips crash against his. The world could see and she didn’t care. The whispers probably already started but to hell with them all. Hunter and Sebastian were her home, and her heart, and she wasn’t hiding it anymore.
Stepping back, she sniffled and reached up to wipe her hands against her face, drying the warm tears on her cheeks. Her attention wasn’t on anything besides this moment, watching the full and passionate kiss between the two men she loved, and who loved each other. The smile spread wide across her face, beaming at the glance they shared with each other, filled with so much warmth and need, unspoken promises in touches and glances. Then Quinn stepped up to the both of them, holding both of her hands out. “What do you say we get out of here?”
