Why are there 'Old Kingdoms'? Did they pass their expiration dates?

Yup, they’re all gross and moldy now

The Old Kingdoms are titled as such in current day, as post-Blood Wars they have been overthrown and are now either in ruins, home to human settlements/forts, have had their surrounding villages taken over by human soldiers, or now house refugees in the Free Cities that still fight to exist.

Once upon a time the Old Kingdoms were mage kingdoms that were glorious and thriving, and are now shadows of their former selves. The only remaining mage kingdom is Embyr who refuses to fall.

Tell me about the Kingdom of Embyr! What's it like there?

The Kingdom of Embyr is the last remaining Mage Kingdom after the Blood Wars. Among the former Mage Kingdoms, it has always been formidable, with a strong military and a fearsome royal family. The people are very proud and strong in heart, mind, soul. This can be seen in all of the kingdom’s traditions, practices, and values.

Embyr’s elemental affinity is fire, thus the majority of citizens born of Embyr or Embryss bloodlines have some power/magic relating to fire. But that is not the case for all, as there are many in the royal family whose magic has nothing to do with the kingdom’s affinity.

In terms of Embyr as a place, the kingdom consists of flatlands, mountains, and mild forests. It once was a large empire, reaching from coast to coast but has now been reduced post-war. The structures found across Embyr are all fortified structures, much like this for the strongholds, and like this for the Capital/Palace, Ulstrom/Dragon’s Maw.

So how exactly did Molly Riot come about? Is she an old OC given new life?

Actually she’s a brand spankin’ new oc! Though the concept may have been floating around in my head for a while. I went through a huge emo/scene phase back in elementary school and still kind of enjoy the look. Figured I’d put together an oc based on that and boom, Molly happened

Her hair is what I like most about her tbh I’ve always wanted to tease my hair that way and dye it all crazy but my hair texture isn’t the same as the scene queens I looked up to growing up :(

Fist And Craft

Forays into the outside world were a frequent and necessary part of the Artificer’s life.  Groceries.  Ventures to secure the proper crafting materials.  Attending the lectures at the guild hall.  Finding the proper manuals for his level of craftsmanship.  Meeting clients.  And even occasionally delivering commissions.

Of course, if he’d had his way, he’d never leave the shop if he didn’t have to.

Quite frankly, aside from people that he could just think of as ‘customers’ the young man was pretty well terrified of people in general.  Perhaps not quite enough to run in terror at the sight of them, but the fear left it’s imprint in that tremor in his words.  The frustrating stick that he couldn’t quite seem to rid himself of.

In fact, his current walk had a fair amount to do with his speech impediment.  Inside the plain brown rapping to ward the paper within from the weather were a few different books.  One was concerned with how to live with...well, impediments such as his.  Not something quite serious enough that one could call it a disability like how a missing limb could inconvenience of course.  And yet, his stutter rather seemed to rule his life and his business.  The Cracked Anvil did well enough.  He could support himself and live his life in (relative) comfort. 

But if he could just work past it, he was certain that he could make it into the kind of business that one could be proud of.  A sigh.  The one could not take place until the first was solved, however.
