Who is your favorite character who you do not write?

From XV, that’d have to be Ardyn Izunia. I love the character and his backstory, but I just... don’t feel like I could really do him justice? I’m afraid if I did write him, he’d be very one or two note and that’s it.

And in general, it’s N’jadaka (Erik Stevens/Killmonger) from the MCU. I really loved his portrayal by Michael B. Jordan, he was funny, he was vulnerable, he was a force of nature. The problem is that I am not Black and I’m not saying that people aren’t allowed to write other races ever- That’s not the problem here. 

The problem is that Erik’s Black diaspora is such a huge part of his character and motivations and as someone who has Asian diaspora, I can certainly feel similar to him and understand a similar pain- but it’s NOT THE SAME. And I’d rather that Black people with diaspora talk about their experiences with growing up not knowing anything about your family origins, barely knowing anything about where you DO live but never being able to FORGET you’re a perpetual outsider to white Americans, etc. I don’t want to disrespect the Black-American experience by like projecting my own experiences onto Erik as if they’re at all the same kind of thing, because it’s not. 

And it’s not a contest to see ‘whose experience was worse’, I’m just saying that since I’m not Black, I feel like it’d be cheap and disrespectful of me to talk and roleplay about Black diaspora.

How long have you been rp'ing?

Like.. over 20 years? I started roleplaying on aim when I was BARELY a teenager (which is dangerous), but since I was heavily bullied it was my only source of social interaction.

Are there characters you wish you could write?

Weirdly enough, I have kinda wanted to try Genesis Rhapsodos. And I am certain if I DID the fandom would go fucking apeshit since he gets a bad rep for being based off of Gackt and ‘a unnecessary insertion into ff7′s perfect lore’ (LOL) and because I would headcanon him as being on the autistic spectrum- in my experience, mainline fandom hates it when you so much as IMPLY someone might be autistic or only make CERTAIN characters possibly autistic coded.

... I want to RP him EVEN MORE now because I am absolutely FUELED by spite and coffee.

1. Mya

Blood red roses, carnations and any other similar flowers; the heat of forest fire against your skin, which can either warm you up in the cold or consume you if it spreads and goes wild; the feeling of being protected and loved in long embraces; the sound of decided footsteps echoing in the middle of the night; the smell of leather jackets and boots.

2. Sephiroth

The icy blue shade of a natural pool in the middle of the woods; sleeping on feather pillows and having dreams about being protected by a guardian angel; the sound that a beautiful gilded bird cage makes when it swings back and forth due to the breeze; the sight of a black cat with blue eyes staring right back at you from the back of an alley as if it could read your soul; the overwhelming loneliness of going somewhere unknown for the first time and not knowing anyone.

my face every time I see someone go on a bully bender calling Katniss Everdeen of Hunger Games indigenous. Like Cersei in this scene I’m writing and scritching my little feathered along and minding my own business and then I hear ‘Katniss is indigenous’ I stop, and I look, and I stare and I judge it before moving on. Especially when said people are bullying everyone and saying everyone is a racist for not agreeing with it. I’ve said it a hundred times before and it seems I’m going to have to say it a hundred more times. She isn’t. A saying ‘oh but she has olive skin and black hair’ - that literally!! doesn’t mean anything!! It means that she could have a tan, people who aren’t people of color can get tans and have black hair!!! Cause guess what happens when you spend a lot of time outside! You either burn OR!! You get a tan!! It’s not a foreign concept, just look at the Mediterranean, those in Italy aren’t POC and yet they some people olive colored skin! (there are plenty of other examples but this is the first thing that comes to mind) Would you say that Ezio Auditore of Assassins Creed is POC? For having a slight tan? NO YOU WOULDN’T. Katniss Everdeen, is not Indigenous. STOP BULLYING PEOPLE OVER THIS.

I will never put my indigenous muse into Dragon Age universe - not unless we make a North America version in Thedas and have the Hero of Ferelden come over, but even then it’s complicated cause my indigenous muse is around the center of the Americas. Details around inidigenous muses being in Thedas means they would have to be kidnapped from the Main Land. No, there is no logical way to do that. So never ever.

"Mya." A cool, calm voice reached out from behind her. Her attention firmly belonged to him in but a matter of seconds and all it took was to voice her name. The members of AVALANCHE preferred their lives to be shrouded beneath a veil of anonymity but when the Investigation Sector of the General Affairs Department became involved it was a veil easily stripped away.

Tseng stood with his hands clasped behind his back and assumed an unwavering stance. He was a man used to being in control and his body language suggested he was the one in charge. "It would be imperative for you to run home." Less of a suggestion and more of a command for her to move along. For the head of the Turks to tell someone they didn't want to be at a certain place at a certain time it was best not to ask for the details.

Starter for @seraphicwept with Ahn and Tseng!

Late nights aren’t unusual in the Turk offices, but on this night, most everyone else had already gone home for the evening. Ahn had thought that she was the last one in, not bothering to hiding her frustration at the amount of paperwork that never seems to go down; if she’s the last one in, there’s no one to see the irritation simmering in the pull at the corner of her mouth. No one to decide to turn something as mundane as this into something like a weakness, something to be teased about in the friendly camaraderie her fellow Turks take part in. She doesn’t want it, wants no reason to find comfort in a place like this.

As the clock ticks past midnight, she decides it’s time to go home. The stacks of paperwork won’t get done any faster if she’s exhausted, and with long days between jobs, there’s little else to do tomorrow but this.

Pulling on her jacket, a fitted piece made specifically for her, she picks up her bag, turns off the light in her office, and starts to make her way to the elevator. Her eyes itch with tiredness and she thinks she might get some decent sleep tonight - but she stops herself when she sees the light from a small desk lamp filtering out of Tseng’s office. Briefly she glances in, content to leave after just a look, but sees a glass filled with amber liquid on his desk, and...is he drinking?

It isn’t her business to say anything, to get involved, to do more than her job and then go home, and yet she remembers a time years ago when they were both softer versions of themselves, learning the inner workings of ShinRa as their souls were crushed and molded along the way. Ahn has never been soft towards this place, especially after everything they had done to her home, her parents, to her, but the years it took to build herself into the sharp-edged, cold, blade of a woman she is now hadn’t been as apparent back then. At the time, Tseng hadn’t been broken yet, either. Still idealistic, someone she might have followed regardless of her being put with the Turks against her initial will.

She takes the few steps between her and the doorframe of his office, knocking gently. When he glances up, the corner of her lips twitch up almost imperceptibly. “Drinking?” she asks, and that gentle smirk is the only outward sign of whatever emotion lies just beneath her surface. “So you’re still human in there, I see.” It’s all in jest, and she wonders if he remembers who she was before enough to know that. They’re weapons, tools, partners in the battlefield, but it seems like it’s been forever since they’ve been friends - if they ever even were.

Though she had just put it back on, Ahn removes her jacket again as she enters the office and takes a seat, setting her bag beside her. “Mind if I join you?”

             It’s the kind of thing you never really know how to answer, someone calling your hair pretty, but it still makes her happy, it still makes her smile. Life is about the little things, the little memories that become a great friendship, the little moments that build a whole. So she doesn’t linger on it, instead she carefully undoes her braid so that the materia doesn’t fall to the ground, doesn’t crack. Aerith holds the crystal ball in her hands like it’s dear to her, the one thing she still has of her mother that she can touch, can feel, can focus on when she feels lost and alone so that she can still feel her mother’s love for her linger on. Love doesn’t fade and people don’t leave just like that.

The woman nodded at the Turk’s words. She knew Tseng did not mean to scare her with such a declaration, but the man was hardly wrong – with Corneo gone now, his mansion currently raided by the Shinra operatives looking everywhere for a trace of the mafioso, it was clear that the absence of the Don created a power vacuum within the Wall Market.

And right now, all eyes were on the self-styled queen of the slums to see how she would act (or react, as it was).

“You know what strikes me as ironic?” she said with a small smile, arms crossing over her chest while taking a couple of steps closer to Tseng – there was no need for an audience for that sort of conversation. “All these years, I’ve been trying to get him back for all the atrocities he committed. All the girls he mistreated, all the poor souls he abused. I spent almost a decade looking out for my own and waiting for the perfect opening to strike.”

The madame sighed then, “And now he’s no longer here and I didn’t lift a finger to contribute to anything. It’s a bittersweet feeling, Tseng,” Melissa admitted, “All this attention now and I did not even earn this. Otherwise, you know it - I'd gladly steal the spotlight.”

I am always willing to write up some positivity for a fellow mutual, with a female OC writer and with your crazy range, Blu! 8) Because, honestly - sometimes I giggle at your blog aesthetics because I can just tell how different some of the muses are between themselves (and also how similar in other aspects!).

I originally followed you for Sephiroth, but stayed for all the others because - damn. I found myself so interested in Mya, for once, because she feels organic to VII. I know it’s not her original verse, but I adore how real she feels. Like, a crush on a handsome 1st Class, her overall badass attitude and the desire to protect others? I can absolutely see it happening in-game. I love it that you also created a father figure - like. A good one. We are sorely lacking these in VII and I love muns who will build older, believable connections like these other characters. :)

On the canon side, I’ll keep to Sephiroth and Lucrecia because let me tell you - I love it when people bring different takes/views on such epic canon muses. I love that roleplay allows everyone to express themselves freely and to write what they feel makes more sense - and I found myself agreeing with a lot of your points in relation to Sephiroth. 

I like that you made your portrayal of him based on different source material and that you delved deep enough with such dedication to come up with a version of Seph that is very much yours. I can see a post and go ‘ohhh there she goes, her Seph is really unique’. Same for Lucrecia - as a former Vincent roleplayer, I was never super fond of Lucrecia and I think her storyline was badly handled in canon - but I keep reading your HCs and I feel you’re giving her some purpose I failed to see before and she’s getting so interesting (to me!) in your hands.

So if that’s not hardcore talent, then I don’t know what it is - honestly, the RPC has a way of making me grow fond and change my views on so many canon muses. :) I guess I rambled lots but basically - I am very happy to have you and your kids around. :D
