More important? He would scoff loudly at such a notion. Nothing was more important in his mind than himself and what he desires; but he wont push it. Centuries of having to sit there and have vampires lecture at him while playing pretend that he was enjoying it taught him to not push too hard. Lest it will become a lecture.

“A-Am I a bad person for helpin’ Missi and Duke?” She blurted as she took another swig. She’d moved permanently into the castle after the blow out with her sister and the hunter. Her arm was still in the cast and she was bruised still but other than that was making a good recovery.

It wasn’t too uncommon to see Missi in the large library that the castle held. If anything, she had made her own little corner where she’d spend quiet nights away from everyone in when not spending time in the parlor she also had dubbed for herself. Regardless, she had been shifting through the shelves again before that golden hair caught her eye.

“ Artemis? “ She’d inquire, following as to where he had been heading to. “ Hey, wait- “ Missi would call out to him, holding a few books in her hands as she briskly walked over to him. Her voice was a lot more relaxed, less hostile, natural. Along with her mask she put on or aggressive demeanor was a tone of voice that fit her various sides. This though, was much more human than anything else despite her appearance.

One night, that’s all she wanted. A night away from her family, to be able to enjoy the things she liked without the scrutiny and constant verbal criticism of her likes and dislikes. Continuous shaming and lectures about needing to apply for college and think about the rest of her life and how much of a disappointment she was wanting to go into writing of all things. Not to mention how her older sister would continuously mock her for being friendless, a loner, and always being alone.

At least for this night she could actually be alone and away from the people who she had such a complicated love and hate relation with. Her family was too complex and for right now she just wanted to read her book.

It’s what brought her here, a small abandoned looking church on the outskirts of the city. Slowly pushing open the door it didn’t look like anyone was here, not that she could see. So the human walked over to a comfortable looking corner and would put her backpack down and pull out her book. Content to sit on the floor and read until the morning.
