Whew! Only a few hours to go before we fly off to the Mouse, and the Tightrope Walker is done! This costume truly was a group labor of love. I chose all of the fabrics, sewed the lace onto the parasol and the skirt, and painted the flowers, with help from @aureliancosplay, who also styled my beautiful wig. Finally, the gorgeous bolero and bodice were made by @serasstitches! I’m so thrilled to debut her at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on Thursday!

I had another fitting with @serasstitches yesterday and the tightrope walker ghost is coming along splendidly! I finished the skirt (thank you, @aureliancosplay) and the parasol yesterday, and I’ll be styling the wig tonight! I’m so looking forward to haunting some fellow foolish mortals at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party next week!!!

Thank you, @liretro, for being such a positive environment this weekend. Not only was it a completely family-friendly event, but the “cosplay is not consent” signs posted on every available surface made cosplayers feel safe and comfortable, no matter what they were wearing. It is so important that everyone knows that it isn’t okay to catcall and harass people when they’re in OR out of cosplay. Everyone I took photos with asked for permission to get close to me or put their arm around me when they were in my space, which was very polite and considerate! I must applaud the convention for its measures to make sure everyone was safe and happy!
