BRIDGERTON 2.05 – An Unthinkable Fate
I really hate how the show refused to acknowlegde the harm Penelope has caused. We've talked about her blaming Cressida for almost ruining the bridgerton when she did that.
Yes, one single woman comes up to her to call her out but none of the main characters ever do!
But also nothing wrong she's ever done can be mentioned! Benedict is having a love story with a working class woman and he has no conversation with Eloise, the sibbling with whom he's has the closest relationship, who herself had the start of a romance with a working class man. But they can't have that conversation, because having that conversation means mentioning the fact that Penelope broke them up, and we can't talk about Penelope doing something wrong.
And now they are going to have Marina die so that Eloise can be forced into a romance with her husband, and they are somehow going to never mention what Penelope did to her. I bet they'll even try to blame Marina for everything.
Do u guys remember in season 2 when Eloise met Theo who shared all her interests and challenged her in a healthy way and gave her spaces to think and actually wanted to hear the thoughts she had and suddenly she wasn't some angry childish girl as she's often viewed as by her family she was a woman who was smart and knew what she wanted and she was happy in a way we haven't rlly seen her character since?? Remember 🥲🥲
Maybe I’m just built different because I would choose “I’ve read all of these, I set them aside for you. Perhaps you might share your thoughts on them” over any other declarations of love on the show.
i love how theloise and creloise shippers can put aside our differences and unite against the common evil: whatever character assassination the writers are going to put eloise through if she is s5
very tempted to write a fic where Violet is bitching infront of Footman John about how Eloise seems so against love only for him to give in and snitch about Theo and Eloise, leading to Violet hunting far and wide to find the one guy that Eloise doesn't hate.
He may be working class but at least he's breathing, at this point Violet is taking whatever she can get
still haven't recovered from them introducing the perfect love interest for eloise and then yanking it away despite the fact that he complements her so much better than her intended endgame #wastedpotential
also, let me just say that them pushing eloise's feminism and strive for knowledge above all else in the show has changed her character and the dynamics which would have originally occurred in the book making them fall flat. theo complements her new character by challenging her ideals and prompting her to be inquisitive making him more compatible for her in this point of time. I can't even fathom her character in the show ending up with philip after all this.
