Little ramble but maybe it’s just a me thing but I really don’t like it when an established character is made complicated and evil/mean in media and when retell said media, they woobify the character to make their actions more justified or else make other characters very vile (Despite being established as not) to justify their actions
Uh this happens alot with Loki. Like I get it, I do see him as a tragic character with a complicated motive HOWEVER I don’t like it when you guys purposely make the Æsir meaner to Loki to justify his actions
I’m not denying that the Æsir are massive assholes but defanging Loki’s actions just seems a bit excessive. Like, how are you gonna justify him cutting off Sif’s hair? Or stealing a cursed ring from a dwarf? OR JUST KILLING A MAN CUZ HE WAS JEALOUS like let Loki be vile and complicated. I think she has issues but her actions are not justified
This happens alot in Greek Myth too like Circe(the book) and I just think like… Can we let characters be evil, vile or even like make unjustifiable actions. Idk I think we should support women’s rights and wrongs.
This applies to any media in general honestly like if I can bring up an example in Helluva boss uh. I don’t like that Stella is made a 1 dimensional bitch wife to justify her getting cheated on with Stolas, and Stolas getting woobified so much that his actions of pet calling and demeaning a lower class imp was just ignored in favor of painting the imp IN THE WRONG for breaking his heart like okay man. It can get to a point where the character is no longer enjoyable and just really annoying to see on screen and it’s frustrating seeing actions be justified when there could’ve been an opportunity to explore complicated characters in complicated situations
This rambling and all I can end this with is; Remembering to never woobify my characters has drastically improved my writing overall
I can’t draw a fucking horse but for some reasons I always imagine Slepnir as a horse with 4 long spider legs protruding from their lower sides and 4 regular horse legs, and also kind of a spidery face… because I was like “Oh! Like a spider? Spider horse!” and also cuz my Loki is a spider. Slepnir is the monstrous eldritch horse Odin keeps in his backyard, everytime he comes onto the battlefields everyone has to see him riding a spider horse and I just think that’s really cool and fitting for him
My hyperfixation with Skirfrey is genuinely insane because all the dynamics and interactions I cooked up from my head is so precious to me but they talk to each other like once in a poem and Skirnir is admittedly a shitty ass friend to Freyr
I read like one fanfic where Skirnir had like this unwavering love filled devotion for Freyr and it changed my brain chemistry. To be honest, I don’t remember which one but I’m blaming Fish for it anyways
I am also fueled by the like old artists who draw them together like sitting in a chariot together because they are so cute together and sometimes I think it’s cute how Skirnir sometimes is Freyr’s charioteer while he’s doing shit and it’s my personal interpretation now

Here’s some snippets of my Heimdallr lore that’s still pretty unfinished but basically it’s Heimdallr being gender and body dysmorphic and really wanting to look like a human so he goes to consult Mimir about it like “Can I have magical powers to protect the humans and also can you get rid of my boobs and shit” and Mimirs just 👍 and than Heimdallr goes to have several bisexual threesomes with humanity under the name Rigr
Rambling about my Skadi and her relationship with the Vanir cuz I can and I don’t wanna bother my friend’s shared discord server with my rambling
Freyr and Freyja did not initially like Skadi, like at all. Their mother both died during the war and they’re still recovering and probably don’t have the time to properly move on so Skadi, a random ass woman coming in to marry their father and become their stepmother was really disrespectful to them but they couldn’t do anything about it other than sigh and just walk back to their rooms where they can effectively vent out their frustrations in private.
Njordr was also not mentally or emotionally prepared. Skadi was his age sure but he didn’t like the idea of being used as a scapegoat and most definitely being subjected to a marriage he didn’t want. (There was no feet contest, Skadi was just immediately handed off to Njordr and basically told “Yeah she’s kinda your problem now sorry bro”). He didn’t talk to her at first and TRIED to open up in a friendly way, like how you would a friend of a friend except it had to have some romantic undertones which he really didn’t like.
Skadi herself hated that she was effectively seen as an object to be married off and hope that her grief and anger would go away. Yeah she was under the protection of the Æsir but what more? She lost her father and now has an entire foreign family that: 1. Barely knows her. and 2. Clearly don’t like her at all cuz her father kipnapped one of their friends.
It took awhile for Skadi and Njordr to get used to eachother, Njordr lived on the beach while Skadi wanted to go back to her home in Jotunheim. They didn’t wanna argue with eachother cuz they both understood the situation they were in but agreed they’d atleast stay 3 nights at one another’s place while also staying over for Njordr’s kids place (Folkvangr and Alfheimr) to get them to know one another. Freyja ans Freyr especially was not very pleased but obeyed anyway cuz their dad said so and Freyja understood Skadi’s situation, but she still didn’t like her and just kinda dismissed her with an airy attitude. Freyr was more clear of his disappointment but he expressed it in a way where it hid under the guise of nonchalant wording and sarcasm. Njordr knew his kids still hadn’t completely recovered if not at all at the deaths of their mother and told Skadi as much, reasoning that he can’t really get them to understand her further cuz they were adults now with higher, more urgent responsibilities than his and so just advised that she took it easy around them. Skadi, despite never wanting children of her own did take pity on them and just tried to make minimal conversations at parties and they did slowly get more used to her by then.
It was a slow, slow progress but they eventually grew to like her, not really in a parental way, more of a “Hey this person whose my upperclassmen! I like them! Cool.” kinda way. Instead of dismissive or spiteful glances, they just kinda became good friends with her, Freyr even gave her a silly nickname, ‘Skades’. It was a fun nickname and it made her feel connected to the two twins even if it weren’t familial. Njordr too, they became close friends and frequented each other’s places and company not as a couple but rather two old heads at a bar, discussing about old news and stuff. They always had that 90s uncle and auntie who would just two really cool individuals with wisdom but they were just a bit too old y’know?
Skadi was still apart of the Æsir but she still didn’t like most of them, most notably Loki, Odin and the others who killed her father and celebrated his death. Lord knows she still held a grudge but she became alot more comfortable with the twins and Njordr plus a few of their friends like Sif, her kids, Ullr and Thurd and Idunn! (Who she apologized to despite Idunn never asking her, they hang out and Idunn still jokes about the incident.) Skadi even became good friends with Gerðr after Freyr was married, she recognized Gerðr was in the same situation and advised her to take it easy and if she had any problems, she could always come to her. And also if Skirnir ever did something, she’d promptly go and rock his shit. Skadi also probably told her that Freyr is literally nothing compared to her in terms of being a threat and so, she advised her to just tell him no cuz he’d probably listen to her regardless seeing how lovestruck he’s acting.
I just wanted to talk about them cuz I love them alot🥺I always loved Skadi despite me never talking about her. Skadi and Freyja/Freyr/Njordr aren’t mentally or emotionally prepared to be a family, Skadi didn’t want to be a mom and Njordr didn’t wanna go back into dating and so it’s just like thinking about them sticking to their comfort zones but still being a family, even if it’s ambiguously defined as ambiguously familial. Also Njordr and Skadi QPR, T4T and probably Bi4Bi, grins.

So Heimdallr is a son of the nine daughters of Ægir, no Gerðr though. He is not a son of Odin in my series just a son of the nine waves.
I’m still potentially thinking of a storyline of how Heimdallr got into the Æsir? But I do have a bit of lore on how he got his powers and stuff. For one, my Heimdallr does indeed have horns, he usually hides them when they’re not in use but his right horn is dehorned/cut off due to him sacrificing it to get the power he has. Essentially cutting it off himself and handing it to Mimir
Heimdallr is not a very social person, he’s a chronic introvert that somehow also hates being alone. He has a few friends, namely Tyr, Freyja, Freyr and Thor but their visits are few and far between, mostly them just making a one-sided conversation with him while he sometimes responds, he is listening. Tyr and Freyr do encourage him to take breaks and basically drag him out to parties and games, the pinnacle of two extroverts dragging the adopted introvert to a social event, Freyja also joins sometimes and as unexpressive as Heimdallr might look, he’s happy with them, he enjoys being with his friends and regularly looks forwards/dreads the next time they drag him out of his personal hell.
His relationship with Loki is mutually toxic, Loki and Heimdallr often meet and insult each other, Heimdallr regularly glares at Loki and Loki always laughs off happily knowing she can get the best negative reactions from Heimdallr. They absolutely hate each other and their circumstances lead them to be enemies with a bond of sorts - Heimdallr is jealous of Loki’s freedom and the ability to do as he pleases while Loki hates Heimdallr cuz of his supposed importance that’s in contrast of how much of a shut-in loser he is, just a sheep among wolves but in truth, both think lowly of each other and so highly of others, they think they’re not able to love, feel comfort or be happy but they are loved even if by a few people. When it comes to Heimdallr’s relationship with Odin, it’s mutually distant; Heimdallr likes validation and knowing that only he can do HIS job perfectly is why he always does his job even if it’s mentally and physically draining but Odin doesn’t really think of him at all, sometimes he forgets Heimdallr is there and all in all, he has no strong opinion on Heimdallr, just thinks of him as a colleague and a devoted watchman.
Heimdallr desperately craves validation, the attention of being able to do something right but that craving gets worse and worse overtime, the closer Ragnarok is the more that craving becomes just so shallow until Heimdallr breaks because he feels like he’s nothing, if Ragnarok begins and he blows that horn, he’s just nothing, he’ll die in just a few hours so what was the point of him trying to do a good job? He also wants connections but is never sure how to keep or take care of them. When he sees Tyr break down and cry after the Fenrir situation, what can he do? This is a personal moment for Tyr, Heimdallr can see every waking moment where someone close to him can break down, cry, be at their worst and does it hurt him? To feel like he can do nothing to help them? Heimdallr’s powers can explore some nice themes of loneliness, longing and despair; The desire to be somewhere, the desire to feel those feelings and the longing to live in that moment. Seeing the smiles of people who you are keeping safe by watching them, it’s a beautiful moment but he won’t be there to celebrate with them. Does the wonders of the world, how far and beautiful the realms can stretch captivate Heimdallr long enough that he forgets about who he is? Or does the sight of other people’s despair send him back into reality? I think Heimdallr wants to see the world in a positive light but just, can never really do it ever again.
On a much lighter note, Heimdallr crushes on his friends alot; This became a thing after my friend made a joke that Heimdallr crushes on anyone that stands next to him for more than 10 minutes so Freyr, Freyja, Loki (hatefully) and Tyr rotate in his brain like a blunt rotation
When he was assigned to go get Freyja’s necklace he was so excited and when he got the thing got, he came up to Freyja, soaking wet, legs shaking, puppy dog eyes, bruises and wounds everywhere there’s probably blood dripping down his face and kneels down with the necklace in hand💙He is a gentleman that lowkey wants to marry Freyja and Freyja ACTUALLY feels the same but the two never talk it out. Also Heimdallr is like 5’10, I’m not apologizing for making him really short, Freyja can pick him up like a dog
Freyr also treats Heimdallr like he’s a weird specimen he’s studying, he probably picks Heimdallr up unprompted, observes him and puts him back down and pats his head going. “Nice to see ya’ too, bud.”. Tyr tries to sit on his head while he does his job and it becomes a competition of whose legs start cramping first ORRRRR Heimdallr silently enjoying Tyr playing with his hair and horns (They are homosexuals)
My Heimdallr is also transgender + demirose pansexual… He has the tism in him somewhere and also he has IED. He has a pet ram that I gave to him cuz I thought it was cute, he sleeps standing up or just falls over like a baby owl and also he can walk on water
I might take a but of a hiatus, forcing myself to stop participating in my hyperfixation because my teachers are trying so hard to speedrun homework they gave us 70 questions/also somehow have one million events in the same month and also there’s just so much work so I need to lock in or else I’ll combust because of my workaholic attitude that if something isn’t immediately finished, I will die
All of this happening in a month where the air has been absolutely dogshit (I have a allergy to bad weather so I am incapable of getting better until the air decides to get better) has left me very stressed and tired so haha expect very little posting and until my semester is completely over, I’ll probably go back to posting regularly (Same with art).

Are Loki and Frigg friends? IK the toyhouse is outdated but I saw Loki had winged sandals/shoes from Frigg are they close or did was Frigg feeling generous?

Their relationship is mostly neutral though, Frigg and Loki were good friends in the past but that relationship became distant and mutually exclusive afterwards. Frigg forbids Loki from using her falcon cloak but she is still able to joke with them occasionally/respond to Loki in a manner that is not aggressive or dismissive and Loki is mostly respectful to Frigg which is rare (Loki is mostly respectful to women.)
I think those lingering relationship they used to have and Loki’s experience with Hodr and Baldr as children was probably why Frigg didn’t bat an eye when Loki started interacting with Hodr more, from her perspective, it might even be positive; Loki, an asshole, potentially bettering himself by helping her disabled son where she is otherwise too busy too do herself. Loki definitely spited Frigg however for going along with the whole “imprisoning my kids and ex-wife that did nothing wrong” so obviously he’s not genuine when he’s talking to her and thanking her for her encouragement. Does it make him feel guilty that he knows he’s taking 1(2) children away from a mother? Yes! Is he projecting? Yes absolutely he wants revenge
