Serena
She enjoys genealogy and is one of the best in Grimsborough. She can trace family trees back several generations, even when others get stumped after a few generations. However, unknown to them, Serena has access to Crimson Order citizen records, which are very detailed, making lineage tracing much easier than simply using the town’s public archives
Her husband died a couple of years before the events of Grimsborough. She mourned him, but not for long, as she had to focus on helping her son maintain his position as mayor and supporting the Crimson Order. However, despite the somewhat coldhearted grief she displayed after his death, she loved him; she just had a strange way of showing it
The pearl necklace she wears was a graduation gift from her parents. The pearls are real, and Serena takes good care of them to keep them in perfect condition
She helped Samuel meet Donna. Serena and Donna shared classes and university, and when Donna began asking her about Samuel (because she knew they were friends), Serena connected the dots. Even though Donna wasn’t from a Crimson Order family, Serena knew that Samuel having someone to love would be beneficial to keeping him in line, so she introduced the two
Veronica
Veronica's reputation hit rock bottom after the reveal of the Crimson Order and her family's involvement. While she might not have been a member, she was associated with them by proxy, and some people refused to let her forget that. Eventually, she moved away from Grimsborough to try to escape the dark cloud of shame following her and started a new life far away from the home she had always known
She loves collecting shoes, especially heels. She has so many shoes that she would wear a different pair every day for at least a couple of months. They’re all organized for easy locating, though she has accidentally bought the same shoe twice after forgetting she already owned it due to her large collection…
She wasn’t always the popular girl; she used to be very invisible in the eyes of her peers, even though her family was well-known. But the summer before high school, she had a major transformation, and her popularity skyrocketed. After that, she became the queen bee of the school and basked in the glow of the spotlight
She loves going to the spa. It's her favourite way to relax and destress. Veronica’s favourite parts are the massages and facials. She also enjoys relaxing in the sauna and feeling the stress melt off her
Those smiles still haunt me…
I was surprised that none of the Johnsons appeared in S5, given the important role they played in S1. I know Howard and Serena were incarcerated, but Veronica (and possibly other relatives) weren’t. It would have been cool to see her or another Johnson appear in S5 to learn what happened to the family after the fall of the Crimson Order!
