anyway in my 'deeply held personal beliefs that hold no meaning to most people whatsoever' category of beliefs. i think we as a society should be less scared about calling people who we think are cool but also barely know "acquaintances" because. someone you talk to once a week for half an hour at a time (who you have Only ever spoken to this much and who you didnt know before) isn't your friend and you're devaluing the concept of friendship by calling them as such. and I can't believe this seems to be a controversial fucking opinion but APPARENTLY. IT IS.
like acquaintance isn't a dirty word, people!!! its cool to be acquaintances with people!!!! why is [western/specifically USAm in this post but probably applies to plenty of other cultures] society so intent on making everyone either be strangers or coworkers or friends!!!!
