Really looking forward to Wheel of Time coming out on Friday, but also REALLY SICK AND TIRED of EVERY SINGLE REVIEW or ARTICLE saying "it's gonna be the next Game of Thrones" or comparing it to GoT or things along that line.
I've read both sets of books. I've enjoyed both sets of books. Both sets of books are fantasy. But they are EXTREMELY DIFFERENT BOOKS. Extremely different fantasy for that matter! Their approach and writing style and everything are VERY DIFFERENT. They are both enjoyable, in very different ways! They don't need to fight!

So, long story short, I was cleaning up somewhere and from this box I found this medium-sized flat black canvas board that I had completely forgotten about after buying it a few years ago. 😅
Even though I now have two brand new sets of canvases to use, I couldn't let this one go to waste after abandoning it for so long. So I decided to paint something with it. And with this new painting I wanted to challenge myself. I remembered seeing this AMAZING digital painting an artist did of a sunset on a beach [ LINK HERE ] (P.S. it's the one on the left) and I loved it, so, I wanted to try my best to recreate it, or at the very least, make my own version of it.

I won't lie, trying to replicate the colour, shape & texture of everything was *extremely* hard for me to do, but I think the hardest part was painting the sea, and the relfection of the sky, and making sure it blended well and looked natural.
I especially had a hard time with making the waves crash on the shore. I tried to copy the colour and patterns of the waves in the way the artist did it, but it wasn't working, it just didn't look right. So I ultimately just gave up and did my own thing, and hoped for the best.
