I Think Grover Should've Died
I love Grover as a character, don't get me wrong. But like with most characters written by Rick Riordan, he's extremely neglected at best, and nonexistent at worst.
After the first series, he basically ceases to exist. Hell, after the first book, he becomes a plot device, then a minor character, then a major character with Pan, then back to a minor character, then pretty much never appears again. Like, this is Percy's supposed best friend, maybe keeping him around might, I dunno, give Percy something tolerable to do instead of his derailment?
So, that's why I believe he should've died in the Battle For Manhattan. I mean, think about how much energy it would take to encase a Titan in a tree. Sure, he's the Lord of the Wild, but that's precisely why he's the only one who can do it.
Plus, this will mean both Annabeth and Grover aided Percy at great cost to themselves, and give Grover a moment of selflessness where he can truly show how great of a guy he is.
