What the fuck is breastfeeding discourse.

I'm going to take a a guess and say it had something to do with Dany??

ahaha. Yes, in this fandom, you might think that "breastfeeding discourse" should involve characters who actually breastfeed on page, like Dany or Lysa. Or even something to do with the Sam/Gilly sex scene in AFFC. If only we were so lucky.

No, in actuality this refers to a wank from several years ago (2020) in which an Ar*ya stan wrote an essay discussing the scene in AFFC where one night the (13-year-old) Sansa refuses to let Sweetrobin (her 8-year-old cousin) sleep in her bed (and locks his room to prevent him from leaving it) because, quoting the book: "She would not have minded if he only slept, but he was always trying to nuzzle at her breasts, and when he had his shaking spells he often wet the bed." ...Anyway, this stan said that this scene proved that Sansa had no natural maternal instinct and would be a bad mother who would not breastfeed her children. Unlike Ar*ya (11 years old), who took care of Weasel because she did have a natural maternal instinct (to go along with her natural beauty vs Sansa's manufactured beauty) and would be a good mother and who would certainly let Sweetrobin in her bed and nuzzle at her chest and even pee on her. And would breastfeed her children, of course.

(Mind you, this argument was also in service of promoting Ar*ya as Jon's true love and the warm motherly sister he should sleep with, not his cold abusive superficial bitch sister Sansa. Of course.)

If you're interested despite all this, there's a response post to the wank that treats the subject far more sensibly than it deserves, imo, but all credit towards them for trying. I particularly like that they pointed out that at the end of the chapter Sansa goes back to letting Sweetrobin sleep in her bed again.
