To Ashley my fellow Quinnspiracist - Are our hopes dead after the Ausiello LLG interview? I know we can say "Well, Gansa would never admit that he's bringing him back" to just about anything LLG or anyone else says, but ... I think it's a done deal. Rupert may come back for a S8 episode to save the day but I think he's otherwise gone 😢

We certainly can say, “Well, Gansa would never admit that he’s bringing him back,” and I would have said that if you hadn’t said it for me.

I can’t fault you for your pragmatism, and realistically, with this show, it’s always in your best interests to prepare for the worst. And then, as I like to say, expect it to be worse than that.

But it’s not over until it’s over, dude, and there is no more reason to believe Quinn’s gone now than there was a month ago. There just isn’t.

I mean, what do you expect them to say?!

I guess we can take Kim graham's Tweet as confirmation of Maggie's return. She also made a point to shout out to Nyswaner. She must be a HYH blog reader.

On the one hand, I’m like, “maybe,” but on the other hand, I’m like, “Homeland is really bad at social media.”

But I am psyched that Maggie is coming back!! Finally, an adult to help us make some sense of this trainwreck.

This season - Such great potential, squandered. I cant help but think that the powers that be at HL - and SHO, for that matter - never would have allowed the non-stop torture of a female character. Not sure why it was OK for Quinn. I'm holding onto a shred of hope that Gansa, SHO et al are paying attention to the outcry. Maybe they've even reached out to RF to tell him it's not a true final decision yet, so rather than mislead the fandom, RF isn't saying anything any more. Any thoughts?

I’d argue that this entire show has mostly just been non-stop torture of Carrie Mathison, so… but anyway, as interesting as this question is, it makes me very itchy to contemplate it because I have a hard time giving a shit if male characters are tortured.

That it was Quinn hurts, and it was all gratuitous bullshit anyway, completely unnecessary for storytelling purposes or narrative or… however they’re spinning it? 

As for the other point, I found it very interesting how silent everybody has been this week.

I know lots of people are hoping they bring Quinn back. I'm not one of them. Honestly, if you were Rupert would you want to come back? It was mentioned he had to be convinced to come back S6. When they said he would come back in an altered state it stoked his creative fire. If he does come back I will assume it was because of his contract & not his heart. He needs to be challenged. The HL theme has always been about people vs. mission. I choose Rupert over the writers (lack of) mission.

 @seriousreader: What’s your take on Rupert’s Huff Post interview? Past interviews quoted him as saying that he stopped watching HL when he joined and now he could start again. His comment this time, about HL “maybe died with Quinn” for Rupert, was a clear shift.

I think this says it all (and I love the Brit politeness which makes him add the ‘maybe’).

Rupert gave us a good amount of insight in his recent interviews about how Quinn’s altered state as modern veteran was a challenge which set him on fire.

But, yes, I can’t get my head around the idea that he’d agree to come back from death a second time. That being said, there might be behind the scenes and contractual strings we don’t know about.
