The Snake Next Door
@serpens-scelerata:
Gin remained still not moving from his spot even when he heard his front door shut, he waited until he could no longer sense his neighbor’s presence to rise and re-bolt the front door. The snake sat down and sighed, he didn’t want to draw Soul Society’s attention by killing a human…but…if his new ‘friend’ pushed it he just might take that risk. What an irritating fellow….
Not to mention a complete idiot, need sympathy, Gin? The irritating man was indeed barking up the wrong tree.
The next couple days the snake did not emerge form his home at all setting up this and that to buff the defenses to his home. Nothing overly noticeable things only the snake would know how to locate finally his tea leaves ran low and he willed himself to leave the house for two reasons.
One, to get more tea leaves of course, and more importantly…
…two to see exactly what the man next door would do about it.
Not wanting to draw obvious suspicion to his feeling out the other man Gin changed nothing about his grocery routine. The silver haired man waited till some odd hour early in the morning slipping out off the house looking about as though he were a wanted criminal here as well…before darting off into the night.
Moe woke Tsukishima up when the shinigami slipped from his apartment. He’d left the young Fullbringer watching the house while he took a nap, and while he had his misgivings about the kid’s ability to concentrate on the task, such precautions had indeed paid off.
He slipped from his own apartment within moments, with a firm command given to Moe to stay there. It wasn’t hard to track the silver-haired fellow, and it was with a bright smile that Tsukishima entered the same grocery store. He whistled softly, picking up items here and there as if he were actually shopping, trailing just out of regular sight of the shinigami.
Tsukishima made sure that he didn’t hide or hover, but he watched. And he whistled. Occasionally, he even made a point of skipping the isle the shinigami was in, flashing a neighborly smile as he did so.
Tsukishima wondered how long the shinigami would last before he broke. Before he attacked, confronted him... or gave in.
