Some weeks after my first Serpenteagle post. I think I truly understand why I adore the ship.

Xiang Liu is a character obsessed with chaos, disorder. And what character better reflects those things than Peng? They act first, ask questions later. They're brash and speak their mind. Being their completely unapologetically self. A trait that Xiang Liu values:

"But I have had enough of control. Enough of watching people put themselves in cages. Of watching them push away the chaos when the chaos makes them who they are."

Speaking of this quote, let's talk about what Peng values in Nine. In what we've seen of the Camel Ridge Trio's dynamic, we can see that both Yellowtusk and Azure will typically disagree with Peng's more destructive approach to things. While Nine would embrace this behavior and encourage them to do as they see fit.

Though, they don't just bring out each other's worst traits! As I mentioned before in the original post, they can also bring out the good in each other, too.

If there's one thing that's clear to me, it's that Xiang Liu is a loner. Has probably been one since his friends and Nuwa betrayed him. But Peng isn't. While the trio may not agree on everything, they function like a well-oiled machine. They worry about each other, they trust each other. So, just maybe Peng can teach him how to let people in again.

As for Peng, well, they're kinda an asshole. While Nine is for the most part courteous and patient. I'm sure our snakey boi could teach them some manners.

I've been seeing this around and decided to do it for the OTP.

It's Mermay, so I decided to dust off my old Serpenteagle siren AU!

This is my first time mentioning it here, but basically after Peng's whole pirate crew is murdered, they're left stranded in the middle of the ocean. A siren (Xiang Liu) takes pity on them and promises to protect them from any other sirens that might come to prey on them. Oh, and if Peng somehow dies during this, Xiang Liu gets to eat Peng's remains!
