Getting a job as an underling used to be so much easier, now that people have been using magic to make their own minions, whether through necromancy or summoning.
They were fascinating and impressive uses of magic, but now everyone is using them for everything. They're used for cooking, cleaning, making elaborate plans, giving feedback (for elaborate plans), etc.
Problem is, their will and intelligence is so subpar that the only thing they can do is blindly repeat whatever knowledge the spell that created them contained, lacking the true sapient vision many of these tasks actually need (knowing how a plan could fail, ordering everything in the personalized best way instead of the default, and cooking is just a straight up art form for crying out loud).
Yet sooooo many bosses will just keep contacting wizards for this because "Artificial Henchmen are the future of magic!" and it just makes me want to scream.
I've recently realized that those who follow me do not know what I look like. As I care for privacy, I will not show a real life picture of myself, however I will show this self-portrait that I made. As I myself am not too experienced with drawn art, I decided to use other means
Due to the many accounts that have appeared in this interpreter community, I have taken it upon myself to tier list every single one of them.
Below are my reasons for ranking them.
If I miss any, can you blame me? If anything, this list will be outdated in two hours.
//DISCLAIMER: this tierlist is based off of what Serva thinks of them and is not an actual ranking based on any opinions. Cool? Cool.
@bad-faith-misinterpreter : My boss, how could I put them any lower than S tier? Self-explanatory.
@isuggesttherapy : A truly helpful individual on all accounts. Their dedication towards improvement is extremely respectable.
@isuggestforcef3m : A pervert, forcing her own “interests” whenever she can. Extremely annoying.
@malevolent-belief-translator: They have one thing they like to do and they do it well. They also are helpful and respectful when they can be.
@good-faith-interpreter : I don’t think they’re ok, sometimes they have their moments, but they desperately need therapy.
@good-faith-correctinterpreter : She’s not the smartest, but they’re also not much of a bother.
(I feel like there was someone else here, but when I try and think of them… my head starts to hurt…)
@no-faith-uninterpreter : ...Do they even do anything?
@nihilism-faith-misinterpreter : That title is… debatable, but still, they’re mostly tolerable, although that drawing they made moves them down a spot.
@rival-faith-interpreter : A rival of Faith is a rival of mine. That being said, they seem to be a lot less annoying (or harmful) compared to some others.
@immortal-faith-misinterpreter : For an immortal deity based off of someone else, they’re incredibly reserved, not a bother at all.
@indifferent-faith-interpreter : A bit strange, seems to prefer going with the flow rather than actually conversing, otherwise inoffensive.
@cannibal-faith-interpreter : they eat people
@yuri-faith-misinterpreter : Forces romance where there is none, extremely annoying. (I feel like her and f3m would be close on that regard)
@inverted-faith-misinterpreter : I can barely form and opinion on them, as I can barely read their posts.
@faith-filled-misinterpreter : She seems to be very kind to others. Sure, her constant pushing of her religion can be a bit annoying, but she’s very respectable otherwise.
@surely-serious-interpreter : A bit clueless, but otherwise I feel indifferent.
@good-faith-misinterprenter : An optimist who is seemingly her to make acquaintances or even friends.
@best-faith-interpreter : An egotist that seems to only think of her “greatness” and not much else. Though they do employ someone who I do respect, so there’s something there I guess... (and her living situation is uhh… yikes)
@optimism-faith-misinterpreter : Not only is it someone who always tries to cheer people up, they’re a fellow henchperson, I stand in solidarity with them (and apologize for ranking your boss so low).
@the-faithful-henchwoman : I… am not perfect. I have made mistakes and will continue to do so, I can only try to better myself in any area I can as to satisfy the desire of whoever I work for.
Sometimes the people that I work for dramatically change goals due to them siding with what was once their opposition, whether due to a "moral crisis", infatuation, or what have you.
Of course, I'm always happy to continue assisting whatever needs they still have, unfortunately though, they always end up parting ways with me, whether due to their enterprise being dismantled, them sacrificing themselves, or even firing me to "let me be free" (despite the fact I use my freedom to serve them).
This has happened several times, and every time I end up jobless once more.
If you're only applying to "safe" hench-jobs and not taking any risks, you're not gonna get very far in your career as an underling. The experience you gain from navigating dangerous scenarios everyday is extremely valuable.
Of course jumping into the most dangerous job without any other experience is a horrible idea, but just going for jobs that you're 100% comfortable in will yield absolutely no results. You're a henchperson, not an accountant.
