me logging onto the new server after the june 3rd maintenance to watch the initial panic and chaos unfold:
A few random thoughts on the upcoming server marge.
-As someone who first lived on Ruari YEARS and YEARS ago, I'm stoked to see what Ruarians are like now!
-Even though I know no one who mains in Alexina, I feel deeply for their situation. And by their I mean those who wanted to be a part of the merge. I'm sure not everyone in Alexina shares the same want. But for those who do, I can only hope for a change in the merging plans to include them. If not, a chance to server transfer at the very least.
-With the increase in population I hope this will give more opportunities for event hosting guilds to flourish once more! I miss the strength of our community and I believe the magics still there waiting!
I'm sure I can go on with other tidbits of thought but this was probably boring enough to read! Let's all hope for a brighter future in the meantime!
SERVER MERGE: Battle of the Newbie Shoes
The Merge has been announced and interesting things are going to happen to one of my accounts.
The FAQ right now makes no mention of how Dressing Rooms are going to be affected by the merge, and to be fair, I doubt most people are going to be dealing with merged Dressing Rooms anyway.
So I’ve pulled out almost everything into my bags and bank tabs (reee) but left a different quantity of newbie shoes with each Eralea.
Which shoes will survive the transition??? Maybe none will. Maybe my Dressing Room will break post-merge. Exciting stuff.

I’m pleased to discover that I’ve managed to keep all 23 of my characters’ names (and now have a bunch more character slots, so hooray for that, too!). I’m not super surprised by this: I’m a subscriber, most of my characters have two names, and of the ones that have only one name I like to think that that one name is creative and unique. The one character I was most concerned about -- Naeve -- still managed to keep her name, so I’m happy there. I wouldn’t have been devastated to lose any of my names, but I’m glad it wasn’t an issue.
Here’s hoping you all have similar good luck.
In other news, Korea is merging their servers again. They’re rounding down from the current 12 live servers and 3 master servers to 4 live servers (3 servers will be merged into 1) and 1 master server. They cited their reasons for the merge as wanting to let players enjoy large RVR and PVP more smoothly (but we know better). What’s equally alarming is that at least 2-3 of the current servers were only made/merged just late last year. Needless to say, players will be losing their housing again, they seriously need to get this part checked if they intend to do more server merges.
