Youth Leadership Corps @ BARCC

What do they do?

Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) is the oldest & largest crisis center in Massachusetts

Provide free services to rape survivors which include a 24-hour hotline, 24-hour medical advocacy, individual & group counseling, & legal advocacy

YLC is designed for teens (14-19) & aims to educated them on issues of sexual violence

Topics include: gender and sexuality, healthy relationships & more

YLC also empowers & teaches youth skills like community activism & outreach

To end sexual violence through social change & healing

BPHC: Start Strong Program

What do they do?

Offer teen workshops (ages 11-18) that focus on teen dating violence, media literacy and healthy relationship building

Offers evidence-based teen dating violence prevention curriculum (9-weeks) geared towards middle-schoolers

To educate & equip youth with solutions to help end teen dating violence

What do they do?

Bikes Not Bombs

What do they do?

BNB reclaims and ships most of their bikes overseas to developing nations in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean

BNB provides youth programs in Boston to teach teens bike safety & mechanics skills (and allows teens the chance to earn their own bike in the process)

What is their aim? 

To build an international network of sustainable, social justice oriented bicycle organizations
