7 Vintage porcelain napkin/serviette ring holders. Floral rose design in assorted colours with gold gilding. Marked J H M 1982. No chips, cracks or crazing, may show rubbing wear if examined closely. Lovely pretty vintage table decor. UK SHIPPING INCLUDED.

There are not enough hours in the day. We seem to be living on boiled eggs and the Pudding of the day! Today's pudding is:
Sliced Peach Cream
Slice 1/2 dozen eating peaches into a fireproof dish and sprinkle with about 1/2 cup sugar. Let stand while making a custard to cover. Custard: 1 pint milk, 1 tablespoon cornflour, 2 eggs, 1 dessertspoon sugar. Beat egg yolks, cornflour and sugar together. Pour over the hot milk, return to saucepan to thicken, but not boil, and then pour over the peaches. Place in moderate oven for ten minutes. Beat the whites of the eggs to a stiff froth, add two teaspoons sugar, beat again, and pile on the custard. Return to slow oven to set and colour slightly. Serve cold with cream.- Mrs J.H. I quite like tinned peaches - but using delicious fresh peaches made this food for the gods! It disappeared in an instant! I thoroughly recommend this dessert.
Today has been filled with woodwork and music with a pudding just sneaking into a crack of time. There has been very little time for historic research!

While I am on the subject of kitchen "animalia" here is my rabbit dish. It was given to me by my Great Aunt Alice when I was a small child and I played with it in my cubbyhouse for years and years. It is amazing it survived unscathed. I can't tell you if it has any value or even if it is a thing of beauty because it was so loved by me as a child and is so very familiar.
