my girlie seshet!
Seshat (also known as Seshet, Sesheta, Sefkhet-Aabut) is the Ancient Egyptian goddess of knowledge, writing, books, and libraries. She’s a scribe and record keeper, and also associated with architecture, surveying, accounting, mathematics, astronomy, and astrology ✨ ✨
Are there any stories/legends/myths etc of Seshat? I'm very drawn to her but I can't seem to find anything besides the gist of who she is/was.
Venus into Gemini,Seshet
On June 8, 2019 Venus moved into Gemini
In Shamanic Astrology Venus is the Feminine Principle. When Venus is in Gemini, she is the wondering minstrel, storyteller and bringer of news and information. She is creative, playful and mischievous. She is the creative muse. Gemini represents the entire spectrum of logical and mental interconnectedness and the nature of the analytical mind and all forms of communication.
I love the imagery of Seshet as the archetypal Gemini Goddess.
Seshet is the Egyptian Goddess of the written word, reason, logic and language. Her name literally means “female scribe”. In one hand she holds the palm frond, a symbol of eternal space and time, in the other she holds the scribe’s ink and papyrus. Above her head is a seven flower petal, or rays of starlight in some depictions.
She is often depicted as the consort (either wife or daughter) of Thoth, Egyptian god of wisdom, writing, and various branches of knowledge. Known as the Lady of the Measuring Cord, she first appears in the 2nd Dynasty (c. 2890- c. 2670 BCE) as a goddess of measurements assisting the king in the ritual known as "stretching of the cord" which proceeded the construction of building of temples.
Among her responsibilities were record keeping, accounting, measurements and census taking. Seshet developed the understanding of complex patterns such as astrology, astronomy, geometry, building and surveying, architecture and mathematics.
Seshet is also known as the Celestial Librarian and keeper of the etheric library known as the Akashic Records. She is prominently featured the concept of the eternal life granted to scribes through their works. When an author created a story, inscription, or book on earth, an ethereal copy was transferred to Seshet who placed it in the library of the gods; mortal writings were therefore also immortal.
The written word was considered a sacred art.
British Egyptologist Rosalie David comments on the Egyptian ideal of writing:
“The main purpose of writing was not decorative and it was not originally intended for literary or commercial use. Its most important function was to provide a means by which certain concepts or events could be brought into existence. The Egyptians believed that if something were committed to writing it could be repeatedly "made to happen" by means of magic.” (Handbook, 199).
Call upon Seshet to invoke your inner scribe. She will assist you when it is time to give your wisdom back to the world, She supports us when we take up our pen or whatever craft we choose to convey our thoughts and understanding. She is the clear field on which thoughts are impressed.

Before
I love the detail of her leopard print dress, and the headdress is stunning. Sadly... the paintwork leaves something to be desired. Poor Lady, her face appeared to be melting into her wig >.<
After
Wow! I am so proud of how Seshet came out! It took so long making sure that the little indents on her dress were not filled with paint, and her headdress was an annoyance to paint. But wow! She is now golden!
Praise Seshet! The Mistress of the Library!
She who keeps a record of time!
This Seshet (Seshat) prayer bead bracelet consists of twelve beads, a reminder of the twelve parts of the Duat, the world of the Egyptian afterlife.. At the end of the string is a pendant, a symbol of the god: a pen and ink, a reminder of Seshets role as a goddess of writing.
Giving thanks
I start work tomorrow involving the career that I trained for.
Today marks the first week I’m in a relationship that, aside from distance, is the most ideal thing I could possibly ask for.
I’m back down to where I wanted to be weight wise.
I have a project/organization I’m working on that’s essentially my lifelong goal come to fruition.
My future plans are all flexible, and every option is something I’m happy with.
I literally can’t do anything but give thanks and prepare.
At #Luxor #Temple, #Thoth and #Seshet are displayed prominently. In my book #ENOCH, I explain the etymology from Enoch to Thoth. But I do not explain Seshet, She has the same attributes: giver of the gift of writing, metrology. . What is her representation and etymology? Because she seems to be the teacher of Thoth. It seems to me she represents the angel who was the messenger of the revelations to Enoch. She is this the link between #Heaven and #Earth. . 2. Our group at Karnac. . 3. Early Alpha Omega form, next to #Djed pillar. . 4. With Bila, my navigator to #Elephantine and #Sehel. . 5. The #Cairo market. . 6.
