I watched Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark for the second time last night. It’s scary each time and I love it.
Question to people who’ve seen it: do you think it should be rated R?
It’s not kid friendly like Goosebumps at all.
If you count what the monsters look like, how gross it is, and the scare factor, would you be ok with watching this with a 13 year old?
Also the constant sex jokes and racist jokes as well.
I don't know, I have two opinions about if I and why wouldn’t I.
I think because they are 13 and I started watching what ever I wanted around 13 or 14, it’d be up to them to make the judgment. I don’t think we can shield them from horror because:
It’d give them something else to fear besides the world because the world is scary. Also,
It’d teach them what’s possible and what’s not.
The reason I wouldn’t:
Known fact,
Horror can you PTSD and I don’t need my kid to suffer with such.
Night terrors can effect your health and one of the points of horror is:
To stick with you for a while.
aka
causing night terrors to an unhealthy level.
That’s my two opinions,
