How Even Your Cringiest Fanfic Can Stick With People
Over 10 years ago I read a SessNar Roommates AU. And on the off chance that author is still in the fandom, I want to say it wasn't bad but it was a product of its time.
I reread it recently and while a lot of the humour didn't land all that well and the ship dynamics didn't make me giggle like they did as a recently out gay preteen that characterization has stuck with me for over a decade.
If you asked me what I think SessNar would be like as College Roommates I would still say Sesshoumaru is overly studious and keeps to a routine that's supposed to be healthy but has shit life skills. Naraku would go to parties and study philosophy which he drunkenly espouses and he can bake.
So if you look back and your old fanfic and cringe into the void. Just remember, someone probably still has headcannons today from stuff you wrote when you were 12 and they're glad you wrote it.
Can we just imagine for a minute that Naraku wasn't in love with Kikyo but Sesshomaru. I just love the idea of Naraku fawning over cool Sesshomaru
