Alman kulübünün resmi internet sitesinden yaptığı açıklamada, Sestak’ın 4 yıllık aranın ardından tekrar takıma geri döndüğü belirtildi. Sestak ile 3 yıllık sözleşme imzaladıklarını açıklayan Alman kulübü, Sestak’ın geçmişi ile ilgili taraftarlarına bilgiler verdi. Bochum’un sportif direktörü Christian Hochstatter, Sestak’tan övgü ile bahsederek kadrolarına kattıkları için mutlu olduklarını söyledi. Bochum’un baş antrenörü Peter Neurure ise, “Sestak hakkında gördüklerim beni ikna etti. Çok önemli bir oyuncuyu renklerimize kattık” dedi

"[Sestak for Senate] was great. While there were minor things that left something to be desired--the pay was horrible, the culture of the campaign didn't observe things like 'breaks,' Reading was and is by most metrics the poorest city in the United States, and so forth--I would not trade my experience on that campaign for anything in this universe. Outside of the candidate and senior staff, everyone on that campaign was in his or her twenties, ridiculously good at what they did, and running the second most watched race in 2010 more or less out of the goodness of their hearts. Outside of the narrow loss announced on E-Day itself, the general experience of the campaign was what sustained my hope for the Democratic Party after the passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act, a.k.a. "Let's Take the Heritage Foundation's Ideas From the 1990s and Pretend They Form the Content of a Democratic Policy Package."
