Was that supposed to be a deterrent? Couldn’t her inferior mind contemplate that it was accustomed to threats? Vacant gaze remained fixated on her physique, assessing the situation with surpassed intellect. ( In a split second, it had catalogued every weakness, deciphering incoming data with the ease of breathing. It was an asset with no handler, and yet its conditioning was ingrained, its loyalty prevailing despite HYDRA’s downfall. ) Defecting was not something it was capable of, remnants of fractured mechanics responsible for its next actions as heavy duty boots separated, a sinister tone mimicking slain operatives.

‘I will crush you, ant.’

The forest had felt different since he had come into it a few days ago. There was something dark that lurked in its depths and it was powerful enough that even he could feel its radiance. That morning when he broke camp, he had stopped the infection on one of the trees. A black ichor that seemed to root the wood from the inside. He needn’t be a mage to recognize necromantic taint. It took him twenty minutes less to pack, gather his weapons and dart through the forest. He had achieved his goal and grabbed a sample of the ichor. There was no need for him to stay in the wood any longer than necessary — – a five day journey and he’d be clear of the wood. Three days if he pushed himself past exhaustion.

Jericho had only started the journey back when he noticed tracks in the underbrush. Ones that were out of place for a wood rarely transverse and so light that unless trained in tracking, could be missed easily. Aggravation began to settle in the pit of his stomach as he looked around the area. Great. He pulled his longbow from over his shoulder and notched an arrow. The tracks were easy enough to follow for him and he did so with caution. Occasionally, he’d glance down to ensure he was on the right path. It took him only five minutes to find the woman, dazed and lost.

That didn’t mean that Jericho released the tension he pulled on the string, no, it only meant that he walked into the small clearing with the string drawn and the arrow aimed at her heart. “Speak friend or foe, unless you want to be shot now.” He took a step closer and narrowed his eyes. “Ped- mellon ben coth, ben im will put cin dad hi!” He repeated, in elven tongue.

𝐎𝐂 𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐉𝐈 𝐀𝐒𝐊𝐒! 💢 ANGER - what are some habits they have that will take some getting used to? - I think it'd be a little off-putting that he may listen to others but not answer or even acknowledge with a nod or gesture unless he thinks it's extremely necessary that he delivers some kind of answer. His prim and proper posture and the way he barely moves when out of the field is another habit that can be a little unsettling and how he decides to keep his mask on when in the presence of others that are not his handlers. 💥 COLLISON - what emotions do they have trouble dealing with? - A LOT if not all of them but I'd say happiness and love are the ones he has a lot of trouble dealing with because every time he would show even a sliver of any of the two, he'd be corrected, "rebuilt", so to speak. So, whenever he feels a hint of one or the other, his body and mind automatically redirect him for protection. If any of the two escalate further, he'd probably have a bit of a shutdown, but it has never come to that. 🌏 EARTH - will they give up the world for someone they love? is this decision easy for them? - If he is ever broken out of the programming he's been strictly put in and shown love, no matter how pure or toxic, he would definitely be loyal to that person until the bitter end. He'd go as far as to burn the world if necessary. This decision, however, is not easy for them at all since they have been programmed to only honor mission tasks as opposed to people themselves. It'd probably feel wrong to him, but so right at the same time. It'd be a big conflict, to say the least. 📎 PAPERCLIP - a random fact. - He's been good at masking it, but he has a fondness for the flavor of vegetables and fruits. He gets hints of them on the processed nourishments given to him, those are his favorite parts of the mashed food he's given. 🌠 SHOOTING STAR - if they could make any wish with no repercussions, what wish would they make? - Though he holds no wishes in this moment in time, I feel like in the future, with other interactions, he'd wish to be reborn as someone or even something else, just to see what it truly means to be alive. ☄️ COMET - what do people assume about them? are they right? - People assume he is a very work and mission-oriented individual with no regard to human life or interaction, while others assume he is artificial intelligence designed to only function on the battlefield. They're right about his mission-oriented "personality" and the lack of regard as to life and interaction (for the most part), but are wrong of the fact that he is an android of sorts, even though his structure and creation may be identified as such. (I loved these so much! You can ask as many as you'd want, too!)

The author couldn’t help but be captivated by the woman next to him. To be fair he wasn’t the only one at this event that couldn’t seem to keep their eyes off of her. Bill just so happened to be lucky enough to be pressed next to her at the crowded open bar. That’s the way it always was at these things. 

Bright blue eyes took her in, getting caught on her full lips before lifting to meet her eyes once more. At least he didn’t seem to be the only one between the two of them that was staring. “I’d offer to buy you a drink, but these are already all paid for,” Bill stated with a soft chuckle.

The shrapnel had buried deep, but it was always hard to tell whether he was in pain. HYDRA had trained out of him expected human responses, and sometimes, he didn’t realise anything was amiss until he saw blossoming blood or grazed flesh. ( Getting harmed during combat was inevitable. When one played with weapons, there were bound to be injuries. Being on the front line came at a cost, and the Russians demanded perfection. ) He was, after all, nothing but an instrument at their disposal. He wasn’t done until they said he was - couldn’t rest until they granted permission. It had been a while without a wipe, and his thoughts were starting to blur; repressed memories attempting to break through to his subconscious. He’d fought them, knowing better than to let on that anything was wrong. 

They would punish him regardless. They didn’t need an excuse to do it. His superiors were entitled to do as they saw fit. He was in no place to argue. Blue eyes inspected himself for injuries, for any telling sign of her distress and saw it. ( Only now did neurons burn, teeth gritting together. Semi-operational. Bruised but not broken. ) Whether he was wounded was irrelevant. They had a mission to complete. If he lost a leg, he had another. They’d no doubt just replace it with a mellitac substitute, just as they had his arm. He could still recall in flashes the excruciating trauma of having the remains of his tissue sliced away. It made him feel sick, to consider.

Bucky had endured the horrors of HYDRA, clawed his way back from the brink of darkness - he refused to let it all end in ashes. They had to fight, not just for themselves, but for the greater good, for the countless innocents who were oblivious to the impending doom that hung over them. Despite the righteousness of their cause, it was a hard truth to accept - the cost of this battle could be unbearably high, and any one of them could pay it. ‘That's a risk we have to take.’ Bucky's lips curved upward ever so slightly as he glanced in Dominika's direction, his mind drawing a parallel between her and Natasha. Dominika, a product of Soviet influence, had been honed in the treacherous world of espionage, emerging as a formidable and deadly force in her own right. ( She had borne witness to the extremes of human nature, observing both the cruelty of the corrupt and the resilience of those simply trying to navigate life's challenges. ) Their fight was for the underdogs, the individuals incapable of defending themselves against the forces of tyranny. It was a battle that could not be surrendered, for the fate of the world's innocents hung in the balance. Thanos's victory was inconceivable—it was an outcome that could not be allowed to come to pass.
