“Hermos, calm down, calm down...” He takes Hermos’ hand and gently squeezes it. “I’m here. We’ll be fine. Calm down. Breathe slowly. Breathe in... Breathe out... In... Out...” He talks to Hermos in a soothing voice to help him calm down, trying to keep himself calm at the same time. He doesn’t like being locked up either, but at least he can deal with it well enough to help Hermos.

“J-Jonouchi!” he exclaims, “I should ask you the same thing!” Why is his friend staying in a hotel? His first thought is Katsuya’s father. Hiroto did say that Katsuya’s father is kind of a bad man... his heart pangs in sympathy for his friend. 

Fumbles with his key to his room. “Grandpa’s out of town for some archaeological dig, and the game shop is under construction,” he explains. He finds an interest in the floor. “My parents are out of the country, too, so it’s just me for a while.” Not like it’s anything new to him... 

Musters up a smile and asks, “What room are you in? Maybe we can hang out while we’re here.” He looks at his key, then up at the number of Katsuya’s room. His gaze flicks back and forth in disbelief. 

“W-what?! It’s the same!”

He’s ruffled! Literally!

“J-Jonouchi! Bakura and I are not gettin’ married! We’re just studying together, that’s all!” he huffs, pouting at his friend, though really he looks about as intimidating as a fluffed up kitten. Jeez, why does Katsuya have to tease him so much? 

You did tease Jonouchi about his crush, Yugi. 

“I thought you were on my side, you traitor,” he hisses down at the puzzle. It just glints back at him in an all too innocent fashion.
