Romantic banter prompt:
“here it comes! the big love confession i've been waiting for!” (with a yuri couple you haven’t written before/a lot of👀)
thank you for the ask, lio!! today, i bring you setsujirou <3 hope you like it!!
For today's training, the students are assigned into pairs of one class A and one class B student which already makes Setsuna nervous enough. She gets along with them alright, it's not that, it's just--
"We should probably move aside to talk without the opposing pair overhearing," Jirou tells her, wrapping their slender fingers around her wrist, their thumb resting on her pulse point.
Really, her and Jirou are friends at this point, much like her and most class A girls so there is nothing weird about the casualness between them. Jirou's fingertips are calloused, Setsuna notes absentmindedly and before she knows it, she can feel her heartbeat quickening and in a desperate attempt to distract Jirou from this fact, she exclaims, "Here it comes! The big love confession I've been waiting for!" a bit more loudly than necessary.
And the thing is, that this has also sort of become the norm between them for a while now--Setsuna will say something flirty and Jirou will roll her eyes, like she's doing right now which will only make Setsuna more flustered because fuck, Jirou's so cute when she's rolling her eyes.
"Oh, enough," Jirou says, her words accompanying the eyeroll. "If I was confessing my love, there is no way I'd do it like this."
Bad turn, turn back, turn around, do not, "Oh, really? How would you do it then?"
"First of all," Jirou gives her a pointed look, "I would not do it right before training starts."
"After training then?" Setsuna asks, her heart still beating way too fast and Jirou's hand still around her wrist.
"No way. We'll be exhausted and sweaty," Jirou shoots it down, shaking their heacd. "Besides, I would definitely not just say it, I don't think I could. I'd probably give you chocolate or cookies or something."
"Like, Valentine's chocolate?" Setsuna feels out of breath and to her surprise, that's the question that makes Jirou blush.
"No, just like--Well, maybe I wouldn't give you chocolate, that's pretty boring actually, I take it back, I wouldn't give you chocolate. I'd write you a song instead."
"You'd write me a song?" Setsuna realizes she's very much out of her depth here. Did Jirou just flip the script on her? They totally did, didn't they?
"If I was to confess my love to you," Jirou clarifies, as if the origins of this conversation have been forgotten, which they kind of have been, if Setsuna's honest.
"Right. If you were to do that," she says, just to get it into her head, "then you'd write me a song?"
"I like music," Jirou defends.
"No, I--That's sweet, is what I mean. I'd like it if you wrote me a song."
"If I was to confess my love to you?" Jirou raises an eyebrow.
"Yeah, if that was...on the table, doing it with a song would be a big hit for sure but, I mean, if you just want to write me a song, for the sake of writing me a song, you know, I-I wouldn't be opposed."
"Writing a song is not easy," Jirou points out.
"Of course, yeah, no, I didn't--"
"But I--" they cut themself off, turning away slightly with the blush rising on their cheeks, "I mean, I wouldn't mind writing you one."
"For a hypothetical love confession?"
"For a hypothetical love confession or otherwise." This, Jirou says while looking into her eyes and wow, okay, they're definitely flirting now, right?
Because she's a reckless idiot sometimes, Setsuna turns her wrist slightly, pressing more into Jirou's fingers to make sure she does feel her quick pulse before grinning, and saying, "I'll look forward to it."
