    OK, SO THIS IS OFFICIALLY THE WORST DAY OF HIS LIFE.

where did this guy come from? where was he hiding? who else is around, skulking, spying, plotting? courting his downfall? asahi whips around the full 180 at the sound of oikawa’s voice, arms unintentionally T-POSING like a glitching grand theft auto civilian about to be run over. 

“a goat? i — i’d rather you not think about me at all!” if his horse impression was bad enough, get a load of his ringtone impersonation. tring tring! ( phones don’t tring, do they? ah, shit! he can’t even remember what his ringtone sounds like! ) nonetheless, his hand darts into his pant pocket to ‘answer’ his ‘phone’. 

“i have to take this… sorry…!” what asahi is holding isn’t a phone so much as it is a calculator; he smushes it against his ear like a lifeline, uttering helloooo? to predictably nobody on the other end in absolute horror. his cheek enters a series of 3′s. 

the calculator screen reads ERROR, much like the rest of him.

“getting you an icepack?” this might be one of the few times ushijima’s statement sounds more like a question. he closes the fridge with just a slight push, holding up the ice in his hand. “you seem like you’re in pain. ice helps control inflammation and reduce swelling. if your knee is bothering you, i thought it might help.”

he walks to oikawa’s side, holding the icepack out to the other. “here. we can continue practice at a later time.”

Lev stares down at the back of the RETREATING non-believer, eyebrows knitted with confusion. After a moment of silence, he whips towards Oikawa, nodding with his statement. “I DON’T BELIEVE her! She’s gotta believe in aliens; there’s so much EVIDENCE to show for it! Just…”

He waves vaguely, too at loss for words to put them together. 

“Why would you NOT BELIEVE in aliens? There’s practically no way that you can unless you’re an alien yourself and trying to stop others from believing it!”

     “five minutes, that’s all you’re getting.” it was an empty threat, considering the ace was toying with a ball in his hands, not yet ready to call off practice. sure it wasn’t technically his call, but if he left it to his beloved captain then no one would go home. so he took charge, only he was missing the force his voice usually conjured. the thought of nationals kept him going, not wanting to stop until that final second, squeezing every last moment of the afternoon until the sun finally sank over the horizon. “anyone not ready gets locked in.”
