I finally got a Morphe spray !!!!!

Hey guys,

For years ( and I mean literally years) I have seen beauty vloggers use the famous Morphe Continuous Setting Spray which for those who don’t know its a setting spray to use after you have finished applying your makeup and it helps keep your makeup in place. This setting mist cost £15.00, the original packaging is a plain black bottle with white writing but when I went to see the Huda Beauty counter in selfridges I spotted their new Morphe stand and they had all the Christmas packaging available. So instead of getting the plain black I got a funky blue, purple and pink bottle with a reflective effect. The main box packaging is so gorgous as well and I was getting a setting spray anyway once I saw the stand but I got even more excited when I Christmas package version. They had a few other products in the seasonal packaging as well but since I’m still quiet new to Morphe I wanted pace myself for once in my life.

A few years ago when I was looking into setting spray a lot of reviews recommended two brands Urban Decay ( All Night Setting Spray) and Morphe and at the time I was Urban Decay obsessed so I stuck with what I know and honestly it’s a great spray that really makes a difference but it is £24.00 so it’s a little expensive. And honestly that spray did me great but recently I started running out so I was looking for alternatives and Morphe was recommended to me again so I decided to check it out and was really surprised to find it only costing £15.00 which yeah is still a little expensive but compared to Urban Decay it was a lot cheaper.

Actually applying the spray on your face you can really feel the difference because Morphe feels very lightweight on the skin and syncs into your skin almost instantly where as UD you can feel the spray on your face and have to wait a minute or two for it to set in. I think the best way to phrase it is Urban Decay feels like a spray and Morphe feels more like a mist. I’m so excited to wear this mist more often and see how it compares with different foundations.

When it comes to setting sprays, I’ve never been a diehard fan of them. Some people swear by them and use them day in, day out and can’t live without them, I myself am not one of those people. Being someone who doesn’t use powder, has dry skin and prefers a dewy finish with makeup, setting spray is something that theatrically I should love. I’ve never really found that setting sprays do an awful lot for my makeup and have always felt they’ve been a bit of a gimmick, at least that was until recently. Rimmel #Insta Fix & Go 2-in-1 Primer and Setting Spray is a new launch from Rimmel and one that I’m sure glad I did try. Rimmel are the latest brand to jump on the setting spray bandwagon on a drugstore level. Compared to the likes of Maybelline, L’Oreal and NYX; Rimmel is specifically designed to be used both before and after makeup. The chemicals aren’t overpowering and the scent is refreshing cucumber so you don’t feel like you’re damaging your skin. The spritzer could use some improvement (it’s not as fine as per say, Urban Decay) but it gets the job done. Despite being fast drying (no need to fan your face for five minutes afterwards to get it to dry) this setting spray doesn’t dry out or dehydrate my skin, if anything I feel it helps to keep it hydrated and stops makeup looking cakey. All these are great attributes of the product, but the key is the staying power. When I first used this, I didn’t have high expectations, but I thought I may as well spritz it on before and after applying my makeup. When the end of the day came around my makeup was still looking fresh and similar to how it did when I first applied it, it took me a moment to realize this product was what had helped. I’d applied my makeup at 6:00am in the morning, checked my makeup at 2:30pm and didn’t remove it until 4PM, I usually don’t wear powder and prefer a dewy look with my foundation so for my makeup to last for 10 hours is pretty impressive.
