Meet Andrea! She was surrendered last night and um someone apparently set this hamster to vibrate. She just shakes constantly and I've honestly never seen anything like it in a hamster. In all seriousness it's probably a neurological issue and I wouldn't be surprised to find out it's degenerative given her age of approximately 1.5 years old. So, I guess she will be staying at The Pipsqueakery permanently so she can be provided appropriate vet care and housing accommodations! Now to a couple items of business. 1. Keep voting daily in the Oxbow contest at www.oxbowanimalhealth.com/nurture-their-nature/ to help the critters of The Pipsqueakery. 2. While we could debate the political nature of human rights, it's neither here nor there to what I need to say. For those of you threatening to report The Pipsqueakery for political posts, I welcome you to go ahead and contact the IRS about that. See, as a nonprofit The Pipsqueakery cannot endorse a political candidate (though we can tell you to get out and vote), and we cannot lobby the government for legislative changes. It is perfectly alright for us to take positions on political issues like say, cosmetic testing on animals, animal abuse, human rights, etc. I mean you do realize that the vast majority of nonprofits exist for causes that many consider political (free speech comes to mind), right? So even if you don't actually know the regulations like I do logic should dictate that any interpretation that disallowed nonprofits from taking stances on political issues is incorrect. Anyway, have a lovely day everyone and enjoy this hamster with an off balance fan. I mean neurological condition. Either way, Andrea is way too cute. #hamster #love #rescue #sanctuary #humanrights #settovibrate #iwanttogoplaypokemongo https://www.instagram.com/p/B2b7MYfniu7/?igshid=tkg40n0q89xk
