3. 'Do you actually ever leave your office and sleep?’
Oikawa is still there when Hajime clocks in the next morning. He doesn’t look like he’s left his seat at all last night. His suit remains immaculate and the sharp gaze behind those sleek black frames are still alert and intelligent as they scan the screen in front of him. Still, Hajime chews on his lip in concern.
“Oi,” he says, knocking on Oikawa’s office door. “Got you coffee.”
Oikawa smiles at him. It’s as dazzling as ever, but Hajime has known the guy for years and years, and he can tell the weary tilt of those lips and the tightness around those eyes. “Thanks, Iwa-ch—”
“Do you ever leave your office and sleep?” Hajime interrupts.
Brown eyes blink at him in surprise. Oikawa has the brand-name coffee lifted halfway to his lips, but he stares at Hajime, frozen.
“How many nights have you slept at the office, Oikawa,” Hajime continues. He crosses his arms, staring his friend down. “I know you have a nice sofa in here and all, but you’re still human, and you’re paying ridiculous rent for a beautiful condo so you should at least go home and enjoy what your money is going into.”
“I-I do!” sputters Oikawa.
Hajime raises his eyebrows.
Oikawa deflates a bit under his stare. “Okay, fine. It’s just. The end of the cycle here, so I’m just. Doing my job.”
“Yeah. And I’m telling you to take a break before your job kills you.”
Oikawa sighs. He finally takes a sip of his soy latte, peeking up at Hajime as he does so. This close, it’s not hard to see the exhaustion in his eyes. “Thanks, Iwa-chan.”
“Go home after you finish that. And I mean go home, or I’ll call your mother.”
“Iwa-chan!” Oikawa squawks. “You wouldn’t!”
“Try me, Shittykawa. Go home, you hear me?”
