SEVENTH WAVE RELEASES NEW SINGLE

Rock n’ roll isn’t dead, certainly not where Seventh Wave is concerned. In “New Blood,” the Southern California band draws from their youth; spontaneity and impulsive love that is always looking ahead. There is an evocative grit to their sound—no hiding the fact that indiscretion and deceit can fast rise to a surface, and cause what was once called love, to fizzle out.

It’s a craving for an idealistic partner and needs that can be a downfall in any relationship, something “the mind of youth drunk on young love” can attest to. The lyrical honesty is a keen reminder of their age, but that’s where the line is drawn. Their maturity in sound is honed by years of experience, with members performing since childhood, writing, touring, and/or studying music at school. I can hear the passion, from the deepened, drawn out delivery (and shouts) by Sacha Carlson, to the energy of the pulsing guitars and interlude drum solo. 

“New Blood” ignites a fire with a wandering eye towards pleasure. Seventh Wave is fighting for the rock genre, and I’m excited to see where they go next. Stream the track on Spotify, and watch their live performance video below.
