Hey guys. How's it going? I'm back with a very interesting review for you. It's the Jura Seven Wood. The interesting part comes from the fact that this whisky is matured in a combination of seven different types of oak – first bourbon and then a finish in each of Vosges, Jupilles, Les Bertranges, Allier, Tronçais, and Limousin casks. The result is a very interesting profile, check out my review below. . Nose: Nutmeg, chocolate nuts and raisins. Red fruit jam (like strawberry) and malt. Candied fruit and a hint of mint. . Palate: Rich coffee and creamy chocolate then spicy with cinnamon and pepper. Oaky with tropical fruit and lemon zest with just a hint of smoke at the end. . Finish: Medium to long with vanilla and mint chocolate, creamy coffee and light smoke at the end. . As you can see we end up with a nice combination of spicy combined with chocolate and fruit, thanks to wide range of flavours from the casks. . Released in early 2018 as part of the revised Jura core range, entitled Signature Series. Matured in a combination of seven different types of oak woods: first American white oak ex-bourbon followed by six other French oaks: Vosges, Bertranges, Jupilles, Allier, Tronçais and Limousin barrels. Bottled at 43%. Nose: An aromatic fusion of coffee, ginger spice and a hint of milk chocolate. Palate: Caramelised peach, chewy liquorice and candied orange with a hint of sea-spray and smoke.
